Olympic Tennis 2012 Schedule: Daily Listings, TV Coverage & More
The best tennis players in the world compete throughout the year in various events, but the stage is even bigger this week as they battle for the gold at the Summer Olympics.
While most events at the Olympics feature relatively unknown athletes, tennis provides superstars that fans know very well. This could add pressure to players who now must represent their country as well as themselves.
Although Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the competition due to an injury, the great field on both the men's and women's sides should provide plenty of interesting matches throughout.

Men's Singles to Watch
The obvious favorites heading into the tournament are top-seeded Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. With Rafael Nadal not competing, there are few other athletes in the field who have proven they can win a major tournament.
If anyone is going to beat one of these men, it will likely be hometown favorite Andy Murray. The British star had one of his best tournaments ever a few weeks ago when he lost in the finals of Wimbledon. If he can keep this momentum and feed off the crowd, he will be hard to beat.
Among Americans, John Isner provides the best chance to bring home the first medal since Mardy Fish's silver in Athens. His big serve will play well on the grass court, but he needs to round out his game if he wants to advance deep in the tournament.
Women's Singles to Watch
Serena Williams has accomplished a lot in her career, but she has never taken home an Olympic medal in singles. Her latest win at Wimbledon showed that she can still be dominant, especially with her serve, but she has to be consistent to take home gold.
Her biggest contender will be Victoria Azarenka. The youngster from Belarus is the No. 1 ranked female in the world and the top seed in the Olympics.
Whichever athlete can keep focus and think of this as just another tournament will be the most successful at this event.
