Travelers Championship 2012 Leaderboard: Latest Standings at TPC River Highlands
The 2012 Travelers Championship features a crowded leaderboard.
TPC River Highlands has proven to be a much easier test so far than that of the Olympic Club last weekend, and there are currently 65 players under par.
Fredrik Jacobsen is the leader in the clubhouse after two rounds, having carded a four-under par 66 to pair with yesterday's round of five-under par. His nine-under par total after two rounds is two shots better than the next-best score.
Blake Adams shot up the leaderboard in the second round with a round of 64, six-under par. He's joined by Roland Thatcher and Stuart Appleby at seven-under par through two rounds, and all three men are in terrific position to win heading into the weekend.
Webb Simpson is also in excellent position to win the this tournament after winning the U.S. Open last weekend. He carded a 66 on Thursday and a 69 on Friday, and Simpson is tied for eighth place at five-under par after two rounds of play.
Other notables in contention include Charlie Wi, Tim Clark and Aaron Baddeley, all of whom are tied for eighth place at five-under par.
There are still many golfers who have yet to finish their second rounds, as play was suspended due to severe thunderstorms in the area, according to NBCConnecticut.com.
The weekend will be fun to watch, as there are 23 players within five strokes of Jacobsen's lead. It's a different brand of golf than what we watched last weekend at the U.S. Open, as roughly half of the field is under par.
