Current Manchester City and Former Arsenal Star Toure Drawing PSG Interest
Paris Saint-Germain continues to be in the middle of transfer rumors as they look to become a dominant force in Europe. The latest reports have the Paris outfit turning their attention to Manchester City defender Kolo Toure.
The former Arsenal man has found himself the odd man out in the center of City’s defense. The lack of playing time could sway Toure to leave for greener pastures. Toure started 8 Premier League games this past season, and was brought on as a substitute 6 times for the champions. He appeared in 22 matches in all competitions for City.
With Kolo’s wages being on par with a valuable first team selection, even Manchester City would consider letting him go if the offer was right. Another consideration will be the reaction of Kolo’s brother Yaya who is a key component to Manchester’s midfield. City may not want to cause any feelings of ill will from Yaya by selling Kolo.

After courting AC Milan’s Thiago Silva to reinforce their rearguard, PSG seems to be turning to a more economical option. Toure would be a solid fit for PSG, as his tackling abilities will serve their back four well. His presence in the air will also help PSG to defend set pieces, shoring up an area that can be problematic.Having a player who has marked the likes of Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, and practiced daily against Thierry Henry has a wealth of knowledge to be shared. That type of experience is invaluable in Champions League competition.
The Ivory Coast international would be wise to consider an offer from Paris Saint-Germain. At 31 years old, he is not getting any younger, and the opportunity to be a first choice defender will soon pass him by. A move to PSG allows him to continue to enjoy Champions League football, and compete for silverware with Ligue 1’s budding dynasty.
