With John Cena beating Big Show at the 2012 No Way Out pay-per-view, the WWE Universe got a treat when it saw Vince McMahon fire John Laurinaitis on the spot before being dumped through the Spanish announcers' table.
The need for a new general manager for RAW and Smackdown is the focus of the company now, but with so many people that could conceivably fill the role, fans are genuinely excited to see who is the next authority figure.
Of all the conspiracy theories going around, the one that holds the most merit is that former nWo member and best friend of Triple H, Kevin Nash, could return to run the show. The rumors meant nothing until Nash lent credibility to them.
The former World champion took to Twitter to stoke the rumor hot-stove flames:
Running Raw tomorrow night, going to be epic— Kevin Nash (@RealKevinNash) June 18, 2012
Leave it to Kevin Nash to throw a wrench in the works for his former employer.
Even if he isn’t going back to WWE, the fact that he still cares enough to work the fans is great and proves he still has what it takes to be relevant.
Take away the wrestling aspect, and Nash has a great personality that would make an amazing manager. As we saw against CM Punk, there was a real potential for a great storyline before it was ultimately ruined by Triple H.
With the need for a heel in an authoritative position, Nash could bring the nWo mindset to the table and turn the boss figure into an outlaw that makes his own rules.
Add John Laurinaitis, Big Show and Brock Lesnar to that group and you have the new nWo.
It’s clear that the WWE main event picture featuring John Cena needs a major shakeup, and the return of Nash can bring that in spades.
