Dave's College Basketball Picks, Feb.11: Penn State at Purdue

dave darbyFeb 10, 2009

Penn State (17-7, 6-5) at Purdue (17-6, 6-4)

Line: Purdue -11

It has been a season of streaks both good and bad for Penn State. The current one is bad. A 10-point loss to Wisconsin followed a 20-point whipping at Michigan. Sitting in sixth place in the Big Ten Conference, the Nittany Lions are just one game behind second place Illinois in the win column, but need to get it going again.

Purdue has been very easy to figure out as far as wins and losses. With Robbie Hummel they win, without him, they lose. Hummel hasn’t been practicing and Purdue is remaining quiet on a time table for his return. If Purdue is to have any post season shot, they need Hummel back sooner than later or they will be buried too far in the standings and rankings to make a serious run.

ATS-

Penn State is 11-6 against the spread including 5-3 on the road.

Purdue is 10-10 against the spread including 7-6 at home.

Purdue is 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 match ups against Penn State.
