Arsenal Tranfer News: Yann M'Vila States Interest in Joining Gunners

Dan TalintyreJun 1, 2018

Arsenal interest Yann M'Vila has stated his interest in a move to the Emirates over the summer transfer window—the first public admission made by the French international, who has been strongly linked to the Gunners already.

Currently on international duty at UEFA Euro 2012, M'Vila indicated that he would love to move to Arsenal should the Gunners agree to pursue the 21-year-old and offer Rennes the adequate transfer fee.

According to Mirror Football, Arsenal are yet to meet the French club's asking price of £17 million for the midfielder, but in light of M'Vila's latest comments, they may be inclined to pursue him a little more actively.

Speaking out of his country's pivotal Group D clash with Sweden, M'Vila stated that:

"

"I have heard that Arsenal are interested in me—I like Arsenal and I like the [English] Premier League. I don't know what is happening with the clubs [transfer situation], but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal..."

"

M'Vila is not the only French international that the Gunners are keeping track on, with Olivier Giroud already strongly linked to the club and new rumors emerging that Mathieu Debuchy is also appearing on the Gunners radar.

Having been with the club since he was 14, the midfielder has earned over 100 appearances with Rennes and would be an excellent addition to the Gunners midfield, should a move be agreed upon between the two parities.

M'Vila recorded the highest average match rating for his team during their most recent season, and would provide Arsenal with a great holding presence in central midfield. His defensive skills would also be an excellent boost to the squad, and would allow for greater assurance in going forward.

The transfer target is not expected to be pursued further by Arsenal until the completion of Euro 2012 and although their pursuit of M'Vila has not been as well-documented as that of Robin van Persie or Olivier Giroud, but that's not to suggest that he isn't as high up on Arsene Wenger's radar.

The French international's latest comments highlights his enthusiasm and eagerness to move to the London club, and will no doubt be a huge boost for the Gunners ahead of what is shaping up to be one of the more fascinating summer transfer windows.
