Report: Chicago Cubs Win the Bidding for Cuban Outfielder Jorge Soler
The Chicago Cubs have won the bidding for Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler, tweets Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

The deadline for teams to offer Soler and his agent contracts was yesterday, and he quickly decided to sign a massive deal with the Cubs.

This is a great move by Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer and the rest of the Cubs' front office.
Soler profiles as a young power hitter and could potentially be a bargain at the major league level, as he will make just $30 million over the course of his nine-year pact.
Epstein outbid the Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees to get his guy, and Chicago fans should be excited to see how this young man progresses.
