As if the Big Ten weren’t tough enough, the Wolverines go on the road to face the No. 1 team in the nation. They sure looked ready on Thursday night.

Down by two at halftime, Michigan exploded in the second half to pull away for a 71-51 victory. Although the Wolverines are currently in seventh place in the Big Ten, not much separates them from second place.

UConn is coming off a statement game in which the Huskies totally controlled Louisville on the way to a 68-51 victory in Freedom Hall. Although they failed to hit one of their eight attempts from behind the arc, the Huskies shot 47.1 percent overall and held Louisville in check at 34.4 percent shooting. Louisville made it to the free throw line just twice in the game. The Huskies have yet to loss in 2009 and are on a 10-game win streak.

ATS

Michigan is 9-8-1 against the spread, including 1-6-1 on the road

UConn is 11-7 against the spread, including 5-5 at home

Michigan has not played well on the road. UConn has had no problem blowing out other teams. No problem here for the Huskies.

Dave’s Pick: UConn -16
