The Dodgers were 9-5 without Kemp and are an MLB-best 32-16 this season. They have, however, lost three of their last five games, so Kemp's arrival in L.A. could not have come at a better time.
Kemp had a brief, two-game rehab stint with Triple-A Albuquerque and looked like he had not missed two weeks of action.
Kemp launched a home run in both games and finished the series 5-for-7 with the two home runs and five RBI.
It is going to be fun to watch a healthy Kemp tear through the league once again. He cooled down in May, but that was also around the time that he began having problems with his hamstring.
Now that he is back, it would not be a stretch to think that he hits at the pace he was before the injury began to nag him. He looked amazing early on, and if the two rehab games mean anything, he looks like he is back in that form again.
Andre Ethier will have help once again when Kemp returns. Ethier has led the Dodgers in Kemp's absence and continues to lead the National League with 42 RBI.
Kemp and the Dodgers continue their four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Kemp is hitting .333 in three games against the Brewers this season.
Kemp will look to improve upon his .359 average, 12 home runs and 28 RBI when he returns from the DL Tuesday.
