Mike Leach: Washington State's New Coach Is the Gift That Keeps on Giving

Michael FelderJun 6, 2018

We said it the week that the Cougars were getting set to start spring ball; Mike Leach's return is great for the game. We reiterated that fact after Washington State saw their spring attendance skyrocket. Now, after his most recent antics it is even more clear that Mike Leach, and the circus that he loves to exist in, is going to be something to talk about all season.

Leach kicked off the week by hosting a question and answer segment via Reddit that people absolutely loved. He was the talk of the town as he answered questions about everything from concussions to giving first date advice to a Washington State freshman. Leach is the belle of the ball and now he has unknowingly done something even more awesome to the folks already in love with his ways.

In a copy of "Swing Your Sword," that Leach signed for one, Nick Gustavson, he was asked and obliged in printing "CJK5H" in his words of wisdom. "CJK5H" is short for "Craig James Killed 5 Hookers" part of the anti-Craig James internet meme that has become so popular in the college football "twittersphere."

Mike Leach, without planning on it, serves up another winner for the droves of college football fans that believe everything he touches turns to gold. This is what the coach does and thanks to his new gig at Washington State, the Cougars can expect people to be paying attention more than they have lately.

Leach is going to keep the national focus on the Cougars through is antics and hopefully the on-field product will follow. The opener at BYU will be a big deal as Mike Leach takes on his alma mater in a game that can set the tone for Washington State. This season should be interesting, especially as Mike Leach continues to score points with all of his fans across the nation.
