Arsenal Home Kit 2012: Breaking Down Gunners' New Home Threads

Wes ODonnellJun 5, 2018

We don't know who will be on the pitch for Arsenal next season, but we know what they'll be wearing when they step on the field at the Emirates.

With only one match remaining this season, the Gunners have released their new home kit for the 2012-2013 season.

The shirts are already available for pre-order and you can see more angles in the shop.

They obviously kept with the red and white that is traditionally expected of the North London club, but they added navy blue trim on the neck and sleeves.

According to the team's website, the blue is a throwback to the days of legendary manager Herbert Chapman:

"

The origins of the blue (obsidian) design features lie in Chapman’s innovative approach to the game. Arsenal manager between 1925 and 1934, his guidance took the Club to three league titles and an FA cup victory during that time.

"

While the classic red and white look from this season is always great, the blue does look great.

They also go back to their traditional logo in the upper left part of the chest. This past season they wore a unique 125th anniversary logo that sported a bit more flare.

The traditional logo is complimented wonderfully with the blue hoop design.

Now that we know what this team will look like, attention turns to who will be wearing these new threads?

With a spot in the Champions League next season all but secured, manager Arsene Wenger will be out to better the squad yet again.
