After almost a year away from action, the former Miami Heat dancer, Layla, is back. Her return marks what could potentially be a reemergence of what until this point has been a failing divas division. But now that the Bella Twins are gone (from whom Layla won the Divas Championship at Extreme Rules), there seems to be no foreseeable feud for the British diva. What follows is six potential future feuds for the newest Divas Champion, Layla.
As of recent, Eve Torres appears to be amassing more and more power, but there is one thing that this former dancer lacks to solidify her reign as the WWE's top diva, the Diva's Championship.
A feud with Layla would not only allow Eve to become the most powerful diva on the WWE roster, it would also help promote the alleged future Zack Ryder/Layla pairing (From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleNewz.com).
Before losing her Diva's Championship to the Bella Twins, Beth Phoenix was on her way to becoming the longest reigning Diva's champion.
An "injury" will sideline Phoenix for the next few weeks, but when she makes her eventual return, it seems only natural to expect the "Glamazon" to go after Layla.
While there is still no date, when Kharma returns one can only hope that she begins where she left off—with the total domination of the Divas Division.
If by then Layla still holds the title, it seems plausible that she becomes Kharma's first target.
Now that the former Tag-Team Champions Epico and Primo are under the management services of A.W., Rosa's role in the stable seems to be undercut. However, her involvement with A.W. could also mean that like Epico and Primo she too will soon be chasing after gold.
Her feud with Layla (who for the moment is a babyface) is unlikely, but not outside the realm of possibility considering the lack of heel divas on the WWE roster.
Daniel Bryan's former girlfriend appears to be showing a darker side these days. And while the WWE creative team has not yet shown signs of a heel turn, this action could happen in a near future.
A heel turn for A.J. could result in a feud with Layla for the Diva's Championship (what better way for A.J. to show Daniel Bryan that she is over him than to strut around the halls of WWE locker room with the Divas Championship around her waist).
As her former partner turned rival, Michelle McCool has a pending feud with Layla.
The chances of this feud are very low considering McCool's retirement last year at Extreme Rules, but if there is one thing that means less in the world of wrestling than the current WWE's divas division, it is the word "retirement."
If the Divas Division demands it (and the payoff is large enough), there is no reason why a recovered Michelle McCool would not return to the ring and enact her revenge for last year's Extreme Rules match.
