Team GB, Spain, Brazil and Mexico Seeded for Men's 2012 Olympics Football Draw

FIFA's organizing committee announced today that Great Britain, Spain, Brazil and Mexico will be the seeded teams for the London 2012 Olympics men's football draw—set to take place on Tuesday at Wembley Stadium.

The four seeds will thus avoid each other in the group stages of the 16-team tournament.

Stuart Pearce's Great Britain are seeded as hosts and will be in Group A, playing games at Old Trafford (July 26), Wembley Stadium (July 29) and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff (Aug 1).

World Cup holders Spain will be the seeds in Group D. They will play at Hampden Park (July 26), St James' Park (July 29) and Old Trafford (Aug 1).

Brazil will be in Group C, with games at the Millennium Stadium (July 26), Old Trafford (July 29) and St James' Park (Aug 1).

Mexico, as the highest ranking nation from the Asia, Africa, Oceania and the CONCACAF regions, will be the seeds in Group D. Their group games will be held at St James' Park (July 26), the Ricoh Arena in Coventry (July 29) and the Millennium Stadium (Aug 1)

Here are the four pots for the draw, split into FIFA qualifying regions. It's worth noting that teams cannot be drawn with others from the same pot.

Senegal secured the final spot this evening with a 2-0 win over Oman in a playoff match at the City of  Coventry Stadium.

• Pot One: Great Britain (Gp A), Spain (Gp D), Switzerland, Belarus.
• Pot Two: Brazil (Gp C), Uruguay, Mexico (Gp B), Honduras.
• Pot Three: Japan, South Korea, UAE, New Zealand.
• Pot Four: Egypt, Gabon, Morocco, Senegal.

Seeds for the women's draw have also been announced. They will be Great Britain (hosts), Japan (reigning world champions) and Team USA (highest ranked, reigning Olympic champions).

The women's tournament will have just 12 teams, split into three groups of four. Here are those pots for you.

• Pot One: Great Britain, Sweden, France.
• Pot Two: Cameroon, South Africa, Colombia.
• Pot Three: Japan, North Korea, New Zealand.
• Pot Four: United States, Canada, Brazil.
