LeBron James Video: Watch Heat Star Give His Gear to Beyonce's Nephew
We interrupt your evening to show you footage that proves beyond a doubt that LeBron James is a kind, loving man who wants everyone to be happy.
Yeah, I know—after all the guff we gave him last year, it seems many of us have tried too hard to cut LeBron some slack this year. When he does something nice, we've done our part to be nice to him.
Take what LeBron did on Monday night, for example. After he and the Miami Heat finished off a 101-98 win over the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center, LeBron found himself face to face (not really, just using the expression) with a young fan out on the court.
This wasn't just any young fan, though. According to the Miami Herald, the young fan was Daniel Julez Smith, nephew of famed singer Beyonce Knowles, who of course is married to Nets minority owner and rap mogul Jay-Z.
At any rate, LeBron got the notion to start showering Daniel with gifts. The young lad got (in order) LeBron's headband, shooting sleeve, wrist accessories (heck, I don't know what they are), and shoes.
Yup, LeBron took off his game shoes and gave them to Beyonce's nephew. It may sound weird, but I'll speak for myself and say that I would have killed to have Michael Jordan give me a pair of shoes when I was a kid. That would have been the coolest thing, EVER.
So I imagine Daniel felt a lot like I would have felt in that scenario. And because of that, I'm envious.
Now all he has to do is grow into those shoes so he can wear them around school, thus being the coolest kid in the world. But that might be hard to do seeing as how not everyone grows up to be a 6'8" athletic specimen of a man with huge feet.
Hmmm...maybe the kid should just have the shoes bronzed instead.
He can wear the headband, though. All I ask is that he wear it as LeBron wears it.
Call it a tribute.
