Last night, the news broke of Bobby Petrino's administrative leave and here at Your Best 11, we let you know that this was just the start of the madness.

The wheels of justice are turning, and by "of justice" we mean the wheels of rooting out every single nugget of information about Petrino's inappropriate past relationship. Plus, any other inappropriate relationships he's had in the past, all in an effort to get the entire story out for the masses to judge.

It seems though that there are two factions of the public that believe this is something that will be swept under the rug. The hardcore Arkansas fan who truly wants to keep Petrino and the "winning is all that matters, it's the SEC, they don't care" guy we all know.

Two very different segments of the populous that have arrived at the same conclusion, albeit by very different thought processes.

Unfortunately for them, they're both wrong. Perhaps they don't understand how the sweeping of things under the rug works in general. Perhaps they don't understand how college football handles one of the very rampant dirty little secrets of the profession.

Or perhaps they are merely spending too much time focusing on the affair itself and not the details, media firestorm and ethical issues associated with the situation.

Whatever the answer is the point is the same; they're wrong. This is not going away. Not today, not tomorrow, not in the next couple weeks. This is a story for a reason, and that reason is not because "the media is out to get us," as so many folks have already started to kick out there.

For Arkansas, the easiest, least painful discovery will be an affair. Just Petrino carrying on with a non-student, adult in and around Fayetteville. That's the cleanest discovery that can be made.

It is reputation crushing, although Petrino's reputation is not exactly sparkling, but it is not exactly damning as far as a career goes. Rick Pitino's career has survived an affair, an abortion and an extortion situation at Louisville. Although, unlike Petrino, Pitino did not try to hide much once the news started leaking.

The real problems for the Hogs start if there are more layers than just simple adultery. The reveal of more than just one affair. The revelation of Petrino engaging in an affair with a member of the Razorback Foundation's fund raising staff. Petrino hiring someone he had an intimate relationship with. All of which are on the table and very real possibilities as more details emerge.

This story already has legs. It has too many avenues of discovery to have this situation glossed over. In today's age of information, Bobby Petrino and Arkansas will not be able to control what does and does not get out. Petrino already tried and failed miserably at that.

Now, with no reason to believe him, there is little hope of any information going unearthed. Cell phone records, emails, credit card information...all of it falls under the public umbrella if Petrino's been using his school-issued goods to carry on.

So table the "this will get glossed over" rhetoric, people. Too much information has been given for sweeping under the rug to be viable. At college football programs all over America, coaches have been let go for this same event; none of them were as public as this Petrino situation.

This is not going to be an easy situation for Arkansas to deal with and as more information comes out, we'll see how Athletic Director Jeff Long handles the Hogs program riding the national spotlight roller coaster.
