Nike NFL Jerseys: Teams That Are in Desperate Need of Uniform Upgrade

With the 2012 NFL season creeping up on the fans, it’s time to start thinking about the new jerseys Nike will be unveiling on Tuesday, April 3.

While the idea is to slightly alter many of the better known uniforms, the company has said that it will be making drastic changes to others. Nothing has been confirmed, but images have popped up online of the possible line of jerseys and uniforms.

All of the following teams need a jersey makeover, but the released images may be too extreme to be real.

We should warn you, all images are not from the NFL, but instead they are rumored to be leaked drawings of the new line.

New England Patriots

While everyone loves the AFL throwbacks that the Patriots wear, the idea would be to make those their normal jerseys and the new Nike combat unis the alternate.

The NFL loves contemporary and subtle, but the reported idea for the New England uniform is very unique:

I would be genuinely surprised if a conservative football program like the Patriots and an old-school coach in Bill Belichick allowed a uniform this wild. As much as fans would love it, it wouldn’t fit their style of franchise.

Philadelphia Eagles

After trying the throwback to the bright yellow and baby blue Swedish colors a few years back and the Kelley Green last year, the Philadelphia have the perfect color scheme for an absolute rebirth.

Judging from the drawings, the complete uniform makeover the Eagles wanted would be done in a fashion very similar to the Oregon Ducks:

Whether this is the true design or not, many Philadelphia fans have grown tired of the same uniform over the last 10 years. It may be the perfect time to make the drastic change.

Atlanta Falcons

Another team with the perfect color scheme for an awesome combat uniform takeover would be the Atlanta Falcons. The whole bird with wings idea was done by the Eagles and Oregon Ducks, so focusing on the colors is a great idea.

With an offensive built to win now and a defense that is dying to get a shot at redemption in 2012, the Falcons and their new unis would devastate the NFC South.
