WrestleMania 28 Predictions: The Rock Losing to Cena Makes No Sense for WWE
Okay, first things first: The Rock is going to beat John Cena at WrestleMania 28, and that's the way it should be.
Let me explain.
I don't see how it makes any sense for one of the biggest stars in WWE history to return, only to lose the match. The Rock comes back for perhaps his biggest match ever, loses and goes back to making movies?

That seems like a dead-end storyline to me.
However, if Cena loses—and perhaps loses in a unique way, such as interference from an outside source—there is potential. Perhaps Cena's story arc is changed.
Think about it: The top dog in the sport today loses to a top dog of the past. Something in Cena changes, he reevaluates his wrestling career. He either grows or turns heel, distraught over the public embarrassment of losing such a huge match.
Since Cena will still be around, his character can grow or change. That's far more interesting than The Rock coming back, losing and not wrestling again for a while. That's a dead-end storyline unless the WWE and The Rock have something up their sleeves that we don't know about yet.
The other possibility, of course, is that the WWE hopes to take Cena to the final level of stardom and wants a victory over The Rock to solidify that. In that case, Cena represents the guy's guy wrestler defeating the old star who thinks he is too good for the WWE and would rather make movies.
However, that's pretty lame in my book. What's more, I think there are enough fans of The Rock out there that watching him lose to Cena would only harbor animosity for the Boston native, not make him any more popular.
Nope, I think you'll see The Rock win. It just doesn't make much sense for him to lose.
Hit me up on Twitter—my tweets have won a lot since 2009.
