Kentucky vs Baylor: Wildcats' Anthony Davis Shows He's Primed for NBA Stardom

There should be no doubt that Kentucky Wildcats phenom freshman Anthony Davis is primed to be a star in the NBA, and his epic performance against Baylor in the Elite Eight is proof of that.

Not only has Davis been dominant in the paint, but he's displayed the grit of a veteran player.

Just a few minutes into the second half Davis collided with Baylor's Perry Jones III and came down hard on his knee. It would have rattled a lesser player, but not Davis. He ended up leaving the game for a few minutes, walking it off and re-entering the game.

This kid is ready for the NBA.

He's been a force in college basketball this season, and he possesses all the intangibles that would lead one to believe that he has a bright future ahead in the pro's.

Now all that's left to be seen is whether or not Kentucky will win the National Championship, and then it comes down to whether or not Davis will declare for the draft.

Before we put the cart before the horse it's important to note that it appears Davis won't decide what to do regarding the NBA until his season is over, and according to quotes from Tina Akouris of The Chicago Sun-Times, he's hoping to make that decision after Kentucky wins the National Title:

“I really haven’t decided yet,” Davis said. “I’m just trying to win a national championship for my team, and then when the time comes, whether it’s this year or next year or whatever the year, that’s when I’m going to have to sit down with my family and my coaches and decide what to do.”

To be frank, he would be stupid not to enter the draft this year.

If he's shown us anything, it's that he has exactly what NBA teams are looking for in young big-men.

He's absolutely dominated in the 2012 NCAA tournament so far, and it doesn't look like he's slowing down. Even more important though is his natural size and abilities.

At 6'10 and 220 pounds, he has the potential to put on much more muscle, and that, combined with his natural athletic skills, would make him a beast in the Association.

First things first, he wants to win the National Championship, and that's a great goal.

In the end though, this is a player that is primed to play in the NBA.

He's primed to be a star.
