Breaking Down Toronto Raptors' Camouflage Uniforms

The Toronto Raptors will be decked out in their camouflage uniforms Wednesday night when they take on the New York Knicks, and that means you have time to adjust your TV sets accordingly. 

We are most definitely on high alert, as one of the worst teams in the NBA will be dressed in some awful-looking threads. 

Here is a breakdown of the special camouflage uniforms. 

Wow Factor: 8 out of 10

Yeah, so the highest marks come from the wow portion of things. Uniforms designed to blend into the background are now burned into my retinas with no chance of me ever forgetting how they look—and not in a good way. 

There are loud uniforms, and then there are these. The only way to properly mute these things is to cover them up with different uniforms. 

I agree that they stand out, but that is not always a good thing. 

Design: 6 out of 10

These uniforms are simply too loud to be cool. They look like basketball ghillie suits and nothing that a winning ball club would suit up in. 

Look, the gesture is fantastic. The Raptors are honoring the Canadian forces, and that speaks volumes.

I will now stand and give a round of applause in your honor for such a tipping of the hat, but I cannot get with these uniforms. 

Overall Swag Grade: 7 out of 10

Here is the funky side of the fashion argument. If you can rock this with your head held high, more power to you. 

If the Raptors can even somehow beat the Bulls in this gear, I will re-think my views on these in-your-face uniforms. 

Until then, bring back the regular home uniforms.
