Liverpool Transfer Rumours: 9 Latest Names Linked to Summer Moves
Summertime is creeping ever closer, and Liverpool transfer rumours are rife.
These 9 players could be set for a move to or from Merseyside at the end of the season, following the apparent shortage of ideas Kenny Dalglish's current men have displayed.
Some rumours—as usual—have the appearance of being more truthful than others, but you never know in football.
Luis Suarez
1 of 10Goal.com have reported that Liverpool forward Luis Suarez would be open to a switch to French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain should the opportunity arise.
The Daily Telegraph has declared that Suarez tops the French club's wish list for next season alongside Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The loss of Suarez would be a huge blow to an Anfield club already struggling for goals.
Cristian Tello
2 of 10According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are interested in three Barcelona players, the first being youngster Cristian Tello.
The 20-year-old Spanish player would add some much-needed creativity in the Reds midfield, and the report suggests that the club are confident they can land him.
Jakub Blaszczykowski
3 of 10Sports News Ireland have suggested the Merseyside Reds could look to Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski to solve their problems on the wing.
The Polish international is 26 years old, and there is no fee mentioned.
Wilfried Zaha
4 of 10In an effort to stick to the plan drawn up by Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli at the beginning of the season, Liverpool may look to Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha as a new addition.
Zaha would again provide natural width to Liverpool's team and provide future resale value should the move not work out.
Zaha is 19 years old and an England U21 international.
Victor Moses
5 of 10Caughtoffside.com's report also suggests Liverpool may be interested in Wigan's Victor Moses.
Moses is a Nigerian international who has played in the Premier League for three seasons now.
With Wigan's survival in the league heavily in doubt, Liverpool may attempt to sign the youngster, who has already stated he would not welcome a season in the Championship.
Javi Martinez
6 of 10Athletic Bilbao defensive midfielder Javi Martinez has recently declared that football in England would suit the player as opposed to different playing styles elsewhere.
Liverpool have been rumoured to be chasing the Spanish player for months, and the declaration could be seen as a come-and-get-me plea to the Reds.
Michu
7 of 10Miguel Perez Cuesta—to give him his full title—is a Spanish attacking midfielder who currently plies his trade at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Elcentrocampanista.com reports that both Manchester United and Liverpool are rumoured to be tracking the highly rated 25-year-old, who could be available for €4 million.
Seydou Keita
8 of 10Seydou Keita has been linked with Liverpool on multiple occasions and seems the likeliest of Barcelona's players to sign for the Merseyside club.
Keita originally made his name as a defensive midfielder but has become more of a box-to-box player under Pep Guardiola's guidance at the Catalan club.
Again it is Elcentrocampista.com providing the stories.
Pedro Rodriguez
9 of 10The third part to the Barcelona trilogy involves Pedro, or Pedro Rodriguez Ledesma to be 100-percent accurate.
The attacking midfielder was part of the Spanish World Cup-winning squad of 2010 and is believed to be a less-realistic signing to that of Keita and Tello.
Afterthoughts
10 of 10These recent rumours at least address the main issue Liverpool have at the moment, which is creating and scoring goals.
The players on here are somewhat hit and miss to a certain extent and might not be well received by fans who want bigger names brought to the club—Pedro aside.
Liverpool certainly have to invest more wisely than the summer of 2011 if Kenny Dalglish expects to be at the helm in 12 months' time.
