Watch: Ronaldo's Top Goals This Season
Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid has had some fantastic goals this season. In this slideshow I attempt to pick out his six best.
The accompanying videos capture these tremendous moments for Ronaldo and Real Madrid in a way that words fail to do.
Let me know if there were any I missed or any that do not belong here.
Real Madrid vs. Lyon, 2011
1 of 6A free kick approximately 23 yards away from the middle of the goal line. Ronaldo is approaching the ball to take the free kick.
We all know there's only one outcome to this kind of situations.
A dipping effort to the goalkeeper's side of the goal smashed the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
Ronaldo grabbed his 99th goal for Real Madrid with this great shot. Later in the same match, Ronaldo scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid from a penalty kick.
Real Madrid vs. Levante, 2012
2 of 6We continue our list with this amazing goal scored in February 12, 2012 against Levante.
Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the ball, carried it 10 yards, before unleashing an unstoppable effort with his stronger right foot leaving Levante goalkeeper helpless as the ball found its way to the top right-hand corner of the net.
Ronaldo completed his sixth hat trick of the season with this fantastic goal. It is also the fastest hat trick scored in this season's La Liga.
Real Madrid vs. Malaga, 2011
3 of 6Next up on our list is this golazo scored against Malaga.
Angel Di Maria sends an inswinging corner to the far post from where it is headed back to Ronaldo, who was left all alone just six yards away from the goal line. You might think it's a fatal mistake and that Ronaldo would blatantly send the ball to the back of the net.
Quite the opposite happened, as can be seen in the video.
Ronaldo shows his imagination and fantastic acrobatic skills with this one-of-a-kind back-heel goal.
Real Madrid vs. Sevilla, 2011
4 of 6Once again poor defending allows Ronaldo to pick up the ball completely unguarded 30 yards away from goal. And the Portuguese does what he does best: Scores.
A fantastic shot from Ronaldo, but he really shouldn't have been allowed so much space.
No chance whatsoever for the Sevilla goalkeeper.
Real Madrid vs. Ajax, 2011
5 of 6I'm not going to waste a lot of words on this goal. This one's for the whole team.
Ozil stole the ball in Real Madrid's half of the pitch and instantly launched a counterattack.
Seven fantastic first-touch passes made Ajax defence look childish as Ronaldo expertly finished a textbook counterattack.
Real Madrid vs. Rayo Vallecano, 2012
6 of 6Ozil takes a corner kick but Rayo players fail to clear it. The ball bounces off the ground to Ronaldo, and then to Khedira and eventually returns to Ronaldo, while Rayo players looked stunned. The truly awful defending allows Ronaldo to take the ball and try an improbable back-heel.
Once again, the defenders look petrified as Ronaldo's back-heel finds its way to the back of the net.
The video says it all.
