WWE News: Big Updates on the WWE Network and Legends House TV Show

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

The WWE Network will undoubtedly be a huge asset to the WWE, if it ever gets off the ground.

Though the 24/7 channel looks great on paper, and there’s no doubt that WWE officials are working diligently to get it ready, Vince McMahon’s latest major project has been a huge disappointment so far.

While many expected the network to start airing by April 1, it’s still not yet near ready for launch, and no one seems to know for sure when it will.

We now have the latest on the network, the projected launch date and one of the most anticipated shows, Legends House

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleNewz.com)

"

It was recently reported that WWE Legends House reality show would begin airing on SyFy in late April. This information came from a run sheet for the show and information told to producers.

In an update, SyFy has not confirmed Legends House will begin airing in late April and officials are still considering holding off on the show for the WWE Network.

"

I’m honestly not sure how well Legends House would perform on SyFy, especially when you consider that Smackdown did so poorly in the ratings department last Tuesday.

There will be a certain demographic or two that this show appeals to (the old school fans and reality TV fans). However, if Smackdown did so poorly on a popular TV viewing night like Tuesday, I’m sure Legends House would probably perform fairly poorly on Tuesday, Wednesday or a Thursday night.

If we’re going to look at the bigger picture, though, I think the WWE needs to put Legends House on the backburner and start focusing all their energy and attention on the WWE Network:

"

WWE officials are still negotiating with cable companies for the Network and there is no set date yet for when it will launch. We do know that it will launch before the end of the year, likely sometime around November.

"

I agree that the WWE Network will launch by the end of 2012 because it would look horrible for the company to fail to live up to its advertisements promoting the launch of the channel at some point this year.

I just don’t know if it’s going to launch quite like McMahon wants it to.

The major problem the network has had so far is its lack of clearances, and there haven’t been any recent reports of the WWE getting more of those. The WWE Network will not succeed if that doesn’t happen.

I know McMahon wants to get Legends House on TV as soon as possible to bring in some more revenue, but the lack of clearances—combined with no concrete plan to run the network—should trump anything else at the moment.

The WWE needs to get the ball rolling on the WWE Network, and it needs to do it fast.
