WWE News: Major Update on the Future of the Kings of Wrestling in WWE

After plenty of obstacles and hiccups along the way, the Kings of Wrestling are finally in the WWE. Both of them.

Though the company signed Claudio Castagnoli, now known as Antonio Cesaro in Florida Championship Wrestling, several months ago, it took a while to get his former ROH tag team partner Chris Hero (now Kassius Ohno) under contract due to issues with naturally-elevated testosterone levels.

Both halves of the former Kings of Wrestling are now down in WWE’s developmental territory, but they’re working as singles competitors rather than in the tag team that made them famous.

Don’t fret, though, because that might change.

As noted before, WWE did not hire Antonio Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) and Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) with the intent to put them back together as a tag team. With that said, a WWE creative source reports that the two former ROH stars teaming together is still possible depending on what happens with the tag team division.

Though I have no doubt that both Cesaro and Ohno can and likely will succeed in the WWE as singles wrestlers, I would absolutely love to see them debut on the main roster as a tag team.

While teaming together in ROH, Cesaro and Ohno developed a reputation as one of the very best tag teams in all of professional wrestling, and they could provide a monstrous lift to the WWE’s ever-so-struggling tag team division.

I know it’s unlikely that WWE officials will suddenly get a renewed interesting in pushing tag teams, but waiting to see “what happens with the team division” isn’t going to do anybody any good. Bringing in a new tag team to start that rejuvenation of it will, however.

The WWE can’t expect the tag team division to get better just by change. Someone in the company has to do something about it, and that starts with reuniting the Kings of Wrestling on Raw or SmackDown.

There is a genuine interest in tag team wrestling from wrestling fans across the world, and Ohno and Cesaro are two standout performers who can make sure that interest grows and that the tag team division grows, too.

If the KOW come in and tear up the tag team division, people within the WWE will start to notice and say, “Hey, this tag team wrestling stuff is pretty good. Maybe we should focus on it more.”

Maybe this is just me living in a dream world, but I honestly think that the Kings of Wrestling are one of only a few options who can start the much-needed tag team revival and keep it going.
