Danica Patrick Video: NASCAR's Queen Crashes Again at Daytona

Jun 7, 2018

As if stock car racing sensation Danica Patrick’s weekend wasn’t rough enough with a hard crash in the Daytona Duel races, Saturday’s Nationwide series saw the queen of NASCAR crashed out with over 50 laps left.

Patrick was driving well and keeping out of trouble all day, but Daytona has a way of bringing the trouble to you.

Coming into turn three, Patrick was bump-drafted by rookie Cole Whitt. Everyone knows that you can’t bump draft in the corner, but apparently Whitt didn’t get the memo.

After tapping the backend of Patrick’s car and causing her to lose traction in the rear, the female star spun out of control and into the outside barrier. She then came dangerously back across the track, but made it safely back to pit road under her car’s own power.

Danica eventually took the car back to the garage where they are currently trying to get it functioning enough to possibly gain some spots for championship contention later on.

This was the second hard hit Patrick has suffered through at Daytona, and eventually they will start to take their toll. Whether she wants to admit it or not, the kinds of shots you take at Daytona are enough to make a driver reconsider their profession.

Patrick is a trooper and she will make it through, but it’s still hard to tell how good she will really be. Just like fellow open-wheel driver Juan Pablo Montoya, there have always been questions about Patrick’s abilities to adapt.
