WWE WrestleMania XXVIII: Undertaker vs. Triple H Doesn't Need a Special Referee

Justin WatryFeb 24, 2012

Last Monday night, the announcement was made official. Undertaker will be taking on Triple H on April 1st, 2012 at WrestleMania.

I had been expecting the match to be made since April 4th, 2011's edition of Raw. While others dipped into their "fantasy booking" bag for the past year, I stuck to reality.

Triple H and Undertaker needed a resolution, and we certainly did not get one in Atlanta, Georgia. They needed one more match. We needed one more match.

Now, we got it!

This time, it won't be a normal match. It will not be a No Holds Barred contest. It will not be a Last Man Standing match. It will be a Heck on a Deck match.

Both men's history inside the steel structure is well known. If anybody were to "bring back" the legacy of the cell, it would be these two future WWE Hall of Fame performers.

As we inch closer to the epic confrontation, there are likely to be plenty of "theories" brought up about how the match will go. In the end, none of those will matter. I suggest everybody keep a clear mind, and stay away from the infamous "fantasy booking" method once again.

Undertaker will win, and it will be an excellent battle.

That much is certain. However, does the match need anything else? We already have the huge structure returning to Mania. I am not sure what else can be done to add intrigue to this match.

For instance, we have seen Shawn Michaels become involved the past few weeks. Whether on Raw or on a WWE.com interview, he has been back in the spotlight.

Will he be just another chapter in this story like last year? Will the company add him as a special guest referee to create some added interest for the "end of an era?"

In my opinion, he is not needed. Let The Game and The Deadman destroy each other inside the demonic cage, and have Taker go to 20-0 without any kind of controversy that HBK would surely create.

The same can be said about Mick Foley. In a video released today, even he threw his name into the picture. I can't fathom this actually happening, but he did ref a Cell match back in 2003. Also, he did lose to both men inside the structure.

Even with that, I really hope Foley was just joking around. There is absolutely no need for Foley to be inserted here. If he returns, a match with The Miz or Dolph Ziggler would make a ton more sense than getting involved with the Cell.

What do you folks think? Do Triple H and Undertaker need a special guest referee? If so, who would make the most sense? Let me know below...
