WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Predictions: Chris Jericho Will Capture Gold

Justin WeltonFeb 18, 2012

Chris Jericho will get his opportunity to capture gold at WWE Elimination Chamber on Sunday night at Raw’s version of the elimination chamber match.

He will outlast CM Punk among others to be on top of the mountain headed towards WrestleMania 28.

I wasn’t a fan of the silence he has showed since returning to the WWE, but he will be able to talk all he wants after winning what will be the best match of the card.

CM Punk is a fantastic wrestler, Jericho is great, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, The Miz and Kofi Kingston are all formidable combatants in the ring which is why this match will be the best on the pay-per-view.

We will see stupendous athletes in the squared circle and I believe Jericho’s experience will reign supreme in the end.

Jericho performed well in the Royal Rumble which was a great bounce-back performance heading into future pay-per-view events. He’ll carry his momentum by winning the championship and marching on to WrestleMania as the title holder.

Jericho has been around the business for a long time and he knows how to get it done in the big moments. The first Undisputed Champion in WWE history knows how to win titles in the biggest of stages.

It’s just another reason why having Jericho in one of the better matches at WrestleMania makes perfect sense; he’s had success at this level of competition before.

Punk is one of the best wrestlers in the world right now and I don’t see anybody beating him one-on-one. If he does lose his title it will have to be in a match like this where anything can and will happen.

The only other option I see the WWE taking is having The Miz win the championship because he has the experience as well. I don’t want Ziggler, R-Truth or Kofi Kingston defending the crown at what is the biggest spectacle in the business.

That wouldn’t look great for the WWE in my opinion.

Jericho, Punk or The Miz will come out victorious, and right now, I have to give the edge to Jericho and his experience in big-time matches. Besides, Jericho didn't come back to the WWE to be just another wrestler who falls short of expectation.
