Josh Hamilton: Reasons Behind Rangers Star's Relapse Continue to Twist and Turn
When Josh Hamilton held a press conference last week to discuss his relapse with alcohol, everyone had assumed that would be the end of it. He was very frank and candid, so you wanted it to be over. But time has brought out more salacious details and allegations of what went on that night in Dallas.
According to one eyewitness who had correspondence with Deadspin, Hamilton was having a beer while dancing with a woman.
The witness alleges that the Rangers outfielder had a drink in hand and began dancing with a woman before going into the bathroom with her for a few minutes. During that time, "loud, sexually oriented noise" was coming from the bathroom and the manager of the bar was blocking the door.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect
In a separate report from Mike Dyce, who has talked to six people who had an eyewitness account of what happened with Hamilton, there are conflicting reports about whether or not the 2010 American League MVP was drinking.
Dyce does cite eyewitness sources who also allege that Hamilton went into a bathroom with a woman and the manager was blocking the bar.
"The second incident in question is that Josh Hamilton went to a bathroom with a woman for 8-10 minutes while an off-duty manager blocked people from coming in. I was told by everyone I talked to that this happened, and that it was consensual. He then supposedly ran out of the bathroom, onto the patio and hurdled the fence.
"
While it is hard to imagine the story about Hamilton not drinking being true—since he made a point of calling a press conference to tell his side of the story and it involved him drinking—I don't know what to make about these latest allegations in which he had an affair.
You root for Hamilton to succeed, because he is such a great talent on the field and has worked so hard to just get to the point where he could get back to playing baseball. But he has to take care of himself off the field.
Let's hope that this is the end of the story and that the alleged affair isn't true for the sake of his family. It would be great to be able to talk about Josh Hamilton, the baseball player, again, instead of a relapse or some other off-field indiscretion.
