Every NASCAR Sprint Cup offseason is interesting. We see many driver changes, crew chief changes and many sponsor changes. You never know which driver is going to be running with a certain sponsor for the upcoming season. Let's look at some drivers that have made changes going into the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season and the new gear some of the fans will be wearing.
After losing DeWalt tools in 2010, Matt Kenseth lost Crown Royal in 2011. For the 2012 season Matt Kenseth is now driving for Best Buy, for only nine races. Valvoline is also a sponsor for the No. 17 Ford, but in has not been announced how many races they have signed on for.
AJ Allmendinger is the beneficiary of the Kurt Busch/Penske breakup. "Dinger" now has a full-time ride and a full-time sponsor driving the Shell/Pennzoil No. 22 Dodge.
Not wanting to run a full season and semi-retiring again. Mark Martin is entering 25 races in 2012 and 2013 seasons driving the No. 55 Aaron's Dream Machine for Michael Waltrip Racing.
Carl Edwards almost won the championship in 2011. After coming up short, Carl had to find a new sponsor. Coming on to the No. 99's hood as primary sponsor in 2012 is Fastenal, who is on for only half the season. The other 18 races will be a conglomerate of different sponsors, including Subway, Scotts, Best Buy, UPS and Aflac.
Formally driving the AMP Energy Drink Chevy, Junior will switch to a lighter more neon green in 2012. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be driving the No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew in the upcoming season. At least everyone that bought National Guard gear will be able to keep theirs, they will be back with Junior for at least one more season
