WWE News: Evan Bourne, Todd Grisham and Jim Ross Comment on Bourne's Suspension

Drake OzJan 18, 2012

In what has to be one of the more disappointing stories in recent WWE history, WWE.com announced yesterday that Evan Bourne has been suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the WWE’s Wellness Policy.

The announcement was so shocking because Bourne had just received his first suspension in November 2011, and yet here we are only three months later and Bourne’s done it again.

As you might imagine, Bourne’s suspension has garnered a wide range of reactions from wrestling personalities, including Bourne himself.

Here’s what former WWE announcer Todd Grisham tweeted about Bourne’s suspension, courtesy of SEScoops.com

"

Shocked about Evan Bourne. Once could be chalked up to a bad decision…twice and there’s a real problem. Hope he gets well. Great guy.

"

While it’s unclear if Grisham knows what that “real problem” is (details on Bourne’s second suspension have yet to emerge), it’s widely known that Bourne was suspended the first time after testing positive for synthetic marijuana, and perhaps Grisham is hinting that that may have happened again.

Regardless of why Bourne has been suspended this time around, though, he’s disappointed a lot of people, including former WWE announcer Jim Ross.

"

Obviously unfortunate for the talent. Two strikes are never good but I want to make it clear that I know zero details...Nonetheless, this matter is being taken seriously as it should be and is terribly perplexing why a talent would travel the same road again.

"

Indeed, two strikes are never good for any superstar, and I honestly think Bourne is walking a thin line right now.

It’s bad enough to get those two strikes, but to get one, follow that up with some massive backstage heat and then get another strike is a great way to wind up unemployed. Bourne’s a tremendous talent, but he’s putting his career on the line.

So, how does Bourne himself feel about his most recent suspension?

He tweeted (courtesy of SEScoops.com):

"

Sorry y’all. Sometimes we become our own worst enemy.

"

It’s incredibly evident that, as Bourne himself admits, he is his own worst enemy at the moment.

He may be out of a job soon, but if he was suspended this time for the same reason he was suspended the first time then he needs to worry about taking care of those personal issues before he even thinks about getting back in the ring.
