Mexico have not let up vs. Ecuador in second half

It's been an exceptional first-half performance from El Tri. They have created frequent chances and won most of the individual duels. Aside from two impressive individual efforts by John Yeboah, Ecuador has not offered much in a surprisingly one-sided match.
After creating multiple high-quality chances in the first 20 minutes, Mexico found the breakthrough in the 22nd minute. The prolific Julian Quinones was the initiator and finisher, finding Roberto Alvardo before receiving a looping ball over the top on a clever attacking sequence. Mexico's top goal scorer in the tournament would finish with conviction in the top left corner, leaving PSG center back William Pacho helpless after cutting inside past him.
It would take less than ten minutes for the lead to be doubled. Pacho's poor clearance fell nicely to Raul Jimenez, who connected with Quinones near the edge of the box. Quinones would take one touch to play the ball back to Mexico's number nine for an emphatic finish. Jimenez was graceful in bending his shot into the top right corner to capitalize on Ecuador's sloppiness. The co-hosts will be confident they can add another goal to earn another impressive win.

Is there a team at this tournament that inspires more fear in their opponents than France? It certainly doesn't look that way.
While Sweden imposed themselves with physical defending and some clever balls in behind to their star strike partnership in the first 20 minutes of the match, France quickly wrestled control of the match back from their foes. And when they did, things started to flow. There was Michael Olise's bicycle kick attempt that nearly nestled into the back of Jacob Widell Zetterström's net in the first half. There was threat from both wingers. And there was Kylian Mbappe's graceful strike that opened the scoring for Les Bleus before the first half whistle.
France didn't slow down in the second half. Olise's nutmegged through ball to Bradley Barcola allowed the Paris Saint-Germain attacker to double the lead. Olise, who was the most creative player on the field, added another assist to ice the game, finding Mbappe for France's third in the 74th minute.
While the attack stole the show for France, as it tends to do, the defending from center backs William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano was also exemplary. While Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres tested them with clever runs, the central defenders remained strong. There simply is no clear weakness in this French side.
Sweden will bid the World Cup farewell, while France look forward to a matchup with Paraguay on July 4th in Philadelphia in the Round of 16. It might be a day for Paraguay.
Only Kylian.
18 World Cup goals for Kylian. EIGHTEEN.
And they're only at the Round of 32 so far
Barcola finishes after sweet setup by Olise

It felt inevitable, didn't it? Kylian Mbappe's goal in the 45th minute put his side up 1-0 over Sweden in a half where France put together more than a few magical moments.
Should it have found the back of the net, Michael Olise''s bicycle kick attempt would have been the goal of the tournament. Ousmane Dembele was a threat from the right wing while Bradley Barcola hounded Sweden down the left. Then, of course, there was Mbappe, whose strike made the difference in the opening period.
Now, Sweden have, at times, made things difficult for France. By setting the tone with aggressive challenges, the underdogs have imposed themselves for minutes at a time. Plus, with Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak causing problems for France with their quality in transition, Sweden have a foothold in the final third, too. While France have been the more dangerous team thus far, the game isn't finished just yet.

The drama levels of the 2026 World Cup remained high in Norway's 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast.
While it didn't take a penalty shootout to settle things in Texas on Tuesday afternoon, it did take a late winner from Erling Haaland's to decide things. Haaland, who continues to feel inevitable up top for Norway, benefited from a fantastic bit of buildup from his teammates – Oscar Bobb's entry ball to Patrick Berg, who claimed the assist, was exquisite.
In addition to his goal, the Manchester City striker was a frightening target for crosses into the box and did well to unsettle the Ivory Coast's center backs on the day. Between Haaland's strike and Antonio Nusa's brilliant effort in the first half that put his side up 1-0, Norway showed the sort of teeth in the final third that make them such a terrifying prospect at this summer's tournament.
Now, the Ivory Coast made a good account of themselves at the World Cup, and in this game in particular. Amad Diallo's goal in the 74th minute breathed life into the team, one that made life difficult for Norway from the very start. Even into second half stoppage time, the Ivory Coast threatened in the attack. Still, that Yan Diomande had a largely quiet showing limited their ceiling.
While the Ivory Coast head home, Norway will face Brazil in the Round of 16 at MetLife Stadium on July 5th. That matchup won't be short on starpower, huh?
Vikings ahead with minutes left.
What. A. Goal.
Can't quite believe this didn't go in.
Yeah wouldn't want him chasing me
Unreal scenes in Norwegian capital

Up 1-0 at the break, Norway find themselves with a foot into the Round of 16. Of course, there's still plenty of time for the Ivory Coast to work their way back into the match, but Antonio Nusa's lovely curled effort from the left side of the box made the difference in the opening period.
There was plenty of back-and-forth play in Dallas between the two sides. Norway began the game controlling the ball high up the field, but the Ivory Coast worked to wrestle things back as the half wore on. Emerse Faé's team tried to make the field big in their 4-3-3 possession setup, switching the ball to the wings and trying to let star left-sider Yan Diomande make plays.
Still Norway's pressing and control has largely limited the Ivory Coast attack. That fact, along with Nusa's strike and some threatening service into Erling Haaland, has Norway in prime position to see out the game in the second half. But will they?
Great strike to open the scoring.
