10 Most Exciting NBA Teams To Watch in 2011-12

Ethan NorofDec 26, 2011

The most exciting teams to watch in the NBA this season are going to force fans to be absolutely glued to the action, and there will be several noteworthy plays on a nightly basis.

With a number of teams changing the roster before the regular season gets under way, it will be very interesting to see what type of impact it has on the landscape of the league.

Just because a team is exciting doesn't automatically mean it will be successful, but we're not talking about winning ways just yet.

Bring on the highlights.

10. Sacramento Kings

1 of 10

The Kings might not win a ton of games this season, but there's no question that this team is going to be a lot of fun to watch as the campaign unfolds.

Between Tyreke Evans crossing the opposition over, DeMarcus Cousins honing his potential, Marcus Thornton draining three's and Jimmer Fredette mania in full effect, fans in Sacramento can bet on seeing some exciting play.

9. Denver Nuggets

2 of 10

The Nuggets are going to run up and down the court, and this team is going to score a lot of points in impressive fashion with the talent on the roster.

Danilo Gallinari might very well average 20 points per game (or better), and Ty Lawson is my early pick for breakout player of the year.

With Arron Afflalo still improving and rookie Kenneth Faried looking like the real deal, Denver could be a lot more entertaining than some expect.

8. Indiana Pacers

3 of 10

The Pacers are one of the more exciting young teams around the league, and the addition of David West provides for a really nice front line alongside Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert.

Indiana also bolstered the backcourt by adding George Hill on draft day and with an emerging Paul George who is on the brink of a full-fledged breakout, this is a team to watch all season long.

7. Miami Heat

4 of 10

Whether you love or hate watching the Heat, there is very little doubt that everyone enjoys watching this Miami team play because of what one might see.

Last season, we saw a full court alley-oop from Dwyane Wade to LeBron James, and it would be a shock if those two aren't regular appearances in the nightly game recap.

6. New York Knicks

5 of 10

The nastiest front line in all of basketball makes its debut on Christmas, and hoop fanatics are chomping at the bit to see what type of impact Tyson Chandler has on this team.

With intriguing rookie Iman Shumpert now in the fold and Baron Davis recovering from a herniated disc, the Knicks could be a very sound source of highlights all year long.

5. Oklahoma City Thunder

6 of 10

Whether it's Kevin Durant scoring, Russell Westbrook driving, Serge Ibaka blocking shots or James Harden raining threes, there are a litany of reasons as to why everyone should be paying careful attention to the Thunder this season.

This team is one of the deepest teams in all of basketball, and there is no reason to think that the club will stop producing an exciting style of play under Durant's leadership.

4. Portland Trail Blazers

7 of 10

It's time to stop pressing the snooze button on the Trail Blazers season.

Jamal Crawford and Wesley Matthews will be draining buckets all season long, Raymond Felton injects a very interesting element into the offense and LaMarcus Aldridge is on a mission to make the first All-Star game of his young career.

There is no reason Portland can't go deep into the postseason, and it's going to come with some amazing plays along the way.

3. Chicago Bulls

8 of 10

The Bulls finished with the best regular season record in 2010-11, and they were extraordinarily fun to watch for a variety of reasons.

Now that the team has addressed its shooting guard position with Rip Hamilton, Rose and the rest of his teammates can really put on a show for the Windy City.

It would be surprising if Rose isn't at the epicenter of jaw-dropping moves on a regular basis, and he'll get his teammates involved in a hurry.

2. Memphis Grizzlies

9 of 10

The Grizzlies were an exciting bunch last season when the team's surprising postseason run was in full effect, and now the team has a healthy Rudy Gay to add to the mix.

After the team brought back Marc Gasol, Memphis has all the pieces intact to make another memorable push toward a championship, which will include some remarkable moments along the way.

1. Los Angeles Clippers

10 of 10

As if "Lob City" hasn't already built up the anticipation for the Clippers season, perhaps a picture is truly worth 1,000 words in this case.

Chris Paul is unlike any other player this franchise has ever had, and after watching him rejuvenate Tyson Chandler in New Orleans, it's mind-blowing to imagine what he will do with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

As for being the "other" team in Los Angeles? Those days may very well be in the rear view mirror.
