You know that you have had something bad happen to you when there is a Taiwanese animation video about it. Kobe Bryant has been immortalized in the latest short from NMA TV thanks to his divorce.
As cold-hearted as these videos might seem, they are actually a good way of catching up to speed on a story that may have passed you by. And the beauty of it all is that they usually fill in all the blank spots in around 60 seconds.
If that's not enough to get you to watch the videos, they are quite funny too. The animation is good, and the way that the story is told makes it that much better.
For instance, in this video, we see some Lakers' girls shooting a basketball. They miss and frantically run after it, only to have Bryant pick it up and have them fawn all over him.
Things get even better when they talk about the secret network of NBA wives and have the avatar of Kobe's wife sitting in front of a map that connects the symbol for female to the Los Angeles Lakers logo.
I love that line about the secret network. It makes it sound like the basketball wives have their own version of the CIA or FBI. Agents, stationed outside NBA locker rooms, are paid to follow players who are suspected of wrongdoing by their significant others.
Truth be told, I don't know why Vanessa is looking for a divorce now. She stood by him when he admitted to cheating in 2003, and according to TMZ, she caught him having affairs multiple times in the past.
Of course, it's entirely possible that the reason I don't know why she wants a divorce now is because I don't care. As long as they act as responsible parents raising their two kids, anything else they do is their own business.
I will just sit back and enjoy the crumbling of the relationship through the eyes of the wonderful Taiwanese animators.
