LSU vs. Alabama Rematch: For the Tigers, 2011 Is Now a One-Game Season
As the LSU Tigers start preparations for a rematch with Alabama, they will have to keep their goal in mind and not get caught up in the hype and controversy of the BCS.
Much controversy surrounds the game as many fans nationally believe that Oklahoma State should have been given a chance to play LSU in the BCS National Championship rather than the system allowing for Alabama to have a rematch with the Tigers.
Coaches always have the daunting task of keeping their teams focused before a game of this magnitude, but for LSU, this shouldn’t be an issue.
The Tigers are not only very familiar with bowl preparation but are familiar with their BCS Championship Game opponent as well.
While many other teams would have the tendency to be over-excited for a game like this, it’s just another game for LSU.
They have literally been there, done that.
LSU vs. Alabama has become a game that plays an enormous role in the outcome of the SEC as well as the BCS.
Despite a National Championship being on the line, the Tigers will look at this as just another game and do their best to dominate.
Should LSU lose, everything else that they have accomplished this year would become meaningless.
The players know it, the coaches know it and the Tiger fans know it.
2011 has now become a one-game season. Win or go home.
With conference rivalries, X's and O's become almost insignificant.
Both teams know the other as well as you can know an opponent and ultimately the game will be decided on execution and determination.
As these guys line up against each other for the second time in a little over two months, the will to dominate the man in front of them will be the main factor in determining the National Championship.
The Tigers have started their preparations and the Crimson Tide will start today.
Both sides will undoubtedly be practicing with intensity and focus and when January 9 comes around, they will be looking to impose their will on the other.
LSU will be ready as they try to come home with their third National Championship title in eight years and defend the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as if it was their home turf.
