Chris Paul Trade Will Allow Blake Griffin To Have Monster Season for LA Clippers
One of the best parts of the 2010-11 season was watching the nightly highlights that Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin treated fans to throughout the course of the season.
Not only did Griffin dazzle throughout the season, he made an impression at the NBA All-Star Game as well.
At the end of the day, Griffin averaged over 22 points and 12 rebounds per game en route to winning the Rookie of the Year Award.
It's hard to top what Griffin did a season ago, but for an encore he has the chance to put up a monster season.
Now that the Clippers have acquired another superstar in Chris Paul along with new additions Caron Butler and Chauncey Billups, Griffin is set up even more to have a monster second campaign.
The Clippers had good young talent before Paul, but now that they have one of the best point guards in the NBA today, Griffin's job should be easier.
If he was capable of dominating as a rookie, imagine what Griffin is capable of doing with a point guard who makes everyone around him better. Imagine what Griffin is capable of with a point guard who has a knack for putting teammates in a position to have the greatest success.
For Griffin, the sky is the limit.
Forget the freakish athletic ability that Griffin has; for now, the Clippers have five guys on the floor that the Clippers' opponents have to worry about. Opposing defenses are surely going to pay Griffin a great deal of attention, but the other four guys on the floor will kill them if they pay him too much attention.
Griffin is going to be free at times to dominate the opposition and dominate he will. Having Paul there almost guarantees it.
Paul does a lot for the Clippers as a team, but he does even more for Griffin. The phenom will benefit the most and turn in a monster season.
