NBA Free Agents: Life Back to Normal as Kris Humphries Likely to Sign with Nets

Gabe ZaldivarDec 15, 2011

Whoever said you can't go home again never considered some folks just aren't fit to explore other ventures.

Kris Humphries took the superstar vehicle out for a ride and may consider that life was far better in anonymity, because that will be what happens if he takes an offer from the New Jersey Nets.

Ken Berger of CBS Sports tweets the most recent turn in Humphries' career.

The Nets have now lost out on Nene who opted to re-sign with the Denver Nuggets. The hope for Nets fans is that Humphries or another big is willing to come back on a one-year deal.

The Nets are not about to lock up a big to a lengthy contract when it looks likely that the Magic are going to give re-signing Howard a go.

That gamble means teams will hold out in the expectation that Howard goes into the summer more likely to sign with another team than return with the Magic.

The market has not exactly been banging down Humphries' door, and he should consider the Nets as the best-case scenario from a career and personal standpoint.

You just knew we would bring up the elephant in the room in Kim Kardashian. It is such a major point in Humphries' life right now that it has to be considered.

The comfort of playing with the Nets can't be discounted. It's time for the big man to concentrate on career first and leave the last year well behind him.

You never want to get lost amidst the crowd, but in Humphries' case, it is the lesser of two evils. The focus for the Nets is obviously Deron Williams, and keeping him in New Jersey with a behemoth signing.

Humphries would flourish with a one-year deal that he can use to concentrate on basketball first. After that, then he can go to the market of his choosing. I am sure Kim Kardashian will have sullied another athlete by then anyway.
