Kenny Anderson Arrested: Former NBA Journeyman Arrested after Bizarre Crash
Former NBA guard Kenny Anderson continues his rollercoaster retirement with a car accident that doesn't make a lick of sense.
The Sun Sentinel reports Anderson was arrested after he crashed his Cadillac Escalade on Sunday. The former basketball player fled the scene by foot and was later confronted by police officers.
Anderson's story is that he popped a tire and lost control of the car as he went around a curve. This makes sense if you are not in your right state of mind. I am sure AAA could have remedied his one flat tire.

Officers would later find that all four tires were popped, though, and the car also had bent rims. Here comes the strange part. Nobody was injured and Anderson was charged with the misdemeanor offense.
The misdemeanor is puzzling, as the report cites, "that Anderson's breath smelled of alcohol, that his speech was slurred and that he admitted having a few drinks prior to crashing his vehicle."
Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues stated, "Just because he admitted having a couple of drinks does not mean we can legally prove that he was over the legal limit. And because he went home, it's difficult to prove that he was over the legal limit when he was driving."
I am no legal expert and my police experience is relegated to the Naked Gun movies, but I am confident that I would have had a tougher time had these circumstances happened to me.
The important part is that nobody was hurt, and I hope that this was a case of the car losing control and not something far more malicious.
A 2010 Huffington Post report delved into Anderson's tumultuous time since he retired from the NBA. The former journeyman was far too generous with his money and actually went bankrupt in large part because of the handouts he doled out to friends.
Then came the proud day when he finished his schooling and graduated. Chalk the latest episode to the strange case of Kenny Anderson.
