Deron Williams Was Spot-on with Calling David Stern a Bully
NBA commissioner David Stern is a bully. People need to stand up to the man and call him out.
New Jersey Nets star point guard Deron Williams did just that by calling Stern a "bully."
He’s right, Stern is a bully. Just like when people talk about Roger Goodell of the NFL, people may not want to hear it, but it’s the truth, so why hide it?
Stern seemed like the bully during negotiations. I understand that sometimes everybody seems like a jerk when negotiating, but Stern just seemed like the “bad guy” in that situation from top-to-bottom. He definitely seemed like a bully with this “blocked trade” nonsense, like this is fantasy sports or something. What a joke.
Finally we see somebody step up to the bully.
Williams said, “You’re fighting a bully. David Stern is a bully; you can’t really go up against him.” He backed off from those words slightly, but still called him a bully seconds later, “He knows he’s a bully. It’s not a secret. You got to be. I think every owner of every big business is a bully. That’s how they become successful.”
That is true, or at least it seems so.
Williams’ comments are coming after what happened with the blocking of the Chris Paul trade. The blocking of the trade was absolutely ridiculous because New Orleans actually received the best parts of the deal.
Apparently the NBA didn’t feel the same way.
The NBA should feel ashamed for what they did, but I’m sure Stern doesn’t. I’m sure he’s sitting there with that smug smirk on his face that we always see.
To me, we shouldn’t hear too much from a commissioner. The more we hear from a commissioner the worse we are going forward.
Stern is clearly a bully. He showed that he was in negotiations, and what we have seen with a blocked trade is an absolute joke. Williams was 100 percent correct with his wordage.
Once you step up to a bully, they will back off. I wonder if we will see the same thing in this situation.
