Jerry Sandusky: New Arrest Paints Even Uglier Picture of Former Penn State Coach

Ryan RudnanskyDec 7, 2011

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is already facing 40 counts of sexually abusing eight boys in a period of 15 years.

But on Wednesday, Sandusky was arrested again for new charges, which included sexually assaulting two additional boys involved in his Second Mile charity, per ABC News.

Sandusky, who was wearing Penn State pants during his arrest, was taken to Centre County Correctional Facility for processing before bail is posted.

Second Mile was a charity Sandusky ironically set up for troubled youth, a charity that was supposed to provide them with a more comfortable environment. Instead, Sandusky allegedly raped one boy numerous times in his basement, after meeting him at a Second Mile swimming event when the boy was between 11 and 12 years old.

The alleged victim, identified as Victim 9, said that he was forced to stay in Sandusky's basement at all times, and was held there while Sandusky would bring him meals. He also said Sandusky would take him to a hotel in State College and assault him in the hotel's pool and jacuzzi.

The other alleged victim, Victim 10, testified that he met Sandusky through Second Mile when he was 10, and he was invited over to Sandusky's home to watch a Penn State football game. Sandusky then allegedly began a pattern of abuse, including "wrestling with the boy and then pulling his pants off and performing oral sex on him."

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it does. The crimes alleged against Sandusky were already so revolting and so crippling to Penn State's reputation. Now you have this, alleged forcible rape in a basement. It doesn't get more sick than that.

You almost want it to be over and done with and the verdict to be read.

At the same time, the public deserves to know the whole truth.
