NBA Rumors: Deron Williams Next Superstar Potentially on the Move
With all of the talk centering around where Dwight Howard and Chris Paul will land, one man has almost been forgotten.
That's current New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams.
Williams is the third superstar that could hit the market next season and could also be the next big name potentially on the move.
Similar to Paul, he's also expressed a desire to play in New York in the past, but the recent rumors involving the Dallas Mavericks could ultimately lead to Williams leaving New Jersey.
The Williams saga can take many different twists.
First, he said he wouldn't sign an extension with the Nets. Then the Nets made an offer for Howard which could be enough to keep him in New Jersey.
Then Williams said his chances of re-signing in New Jersey were at about 90 percent. Finally this week, he expressed a desire to play in Dallas.
The latest rumors of Williams to the Mavericks next season could have some merit to it.
Dallas appears willing to let Tyson Chandler walk in order to free up some money for Williams next season.
It could be a smart strategy on the Mavericks part.
Not only will they save money by not signing Chandler and some of their other free agents this year, but both Jason Terry and Jason Kidd come off their books after this year.
Williams has a desire to play with another superstar and the Mavericks don't have to worry about acquiring one since they already have Dirk Nowitzki in place.
While a decision on both Paul and Howard will likely come first, Dallas could be in a perfect spot to lure Williams out of New Jersey.
