Bowl Games 2011-2012: The 5 Worst Bowl Games for Player Swag This Season

As we all know, swag is extremely important in today's world. You could lack several traits but make up for it if you carry yourself a certain way. The word swag is often used on the football field and most players feel that they play better if they have it.

With the bowl schedule being released, most teams should be happy with where they ended up. But some of the bowl gifts handed out will make it difficult for certain teams to present that swagger.

Here are five of the worst bowl gifts handed out to the participants that even swag won't be able to pull off.

Ticketcity Bowl: Houston vs. Penn State

Gifts: Gift suite and Timely Watch Co. watch

Congrats, Houston. This is what you get for choking in the C-USA Championship Game. You get to participate in a bowl game with the worst name and get a horrible prize.

I guess the watch is so you can count the minutes until you're able to get out of there.

Fiesta Bowl: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State

Gifts: Gift suite, Kenneth Cole watch, cap, Ogio Convoy backpack

I don't understand the watches as a gift.

You have one of the best seasons in college football and the gift is a watch? Other bowls are handing out televisions, gift certificates and Samsung Galaxy tablets.

Also, somebody needs to tell them that Andrew Luck is leaving college. You can keep the backpack.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Rutgers vs. Iowa State

Gifts: Bowl committee would not disclose details about participants’ gifts

That's not a good sign.

That probably means that the bowl is so embarrassed of the gift that they don't even want to tell you. 

The only good thing about this bowl game is that it is being played at Yankee Stadium.

Las Vegas Bowl: Arizona State vs. Boise State

Gifts: Gift suite and cap

Now I know why Boise State tries so hard to run the table. Not only do they go from a BCS bowl to a bowl nobody cares about but they end up with a hat.

Seriously?

Just when you thought nothing was worse than playing in the Las Vegas Bowl.

New Mexico Bowl: Temple vs. Wyoming

Gifts: Gift suite, Oakley Eyepatch 2, Oakley beanie, New Era cap, Oakley Flak Pack 3.0, pen with box, Christmas ornament.

Okay, what in the world is a Oakley Eyepatch and why are they giving them out?

Also, by the time this game is being played the Christmas tree should already be decorated. So, I don't understand the reason for the Christmas ornament. 

These are one of those gifts that you say, thanks but no thanks.
