2011 Bowl Games: Power Ranking All 70 Quarterbacks

Martin SondermannDec 6, 2011

No position gets more credit for a win, or blame for a loss, than the quarterback.  It is a position full of either glory or agony.

This bowl season, 35 teams will taste victory.  Thirty-five quarterbacks will be hailed as heroes.  Meanwhile, 35 teams will suffer loss, and their QBs will hang their heads.

For some, this will be their last college bowl game, while for others it is their first.  No matter what the case, we thought it would be good to power rank all 70 college quarterbacks participating in the 2011-2012 college bowl games.

The 2011 Bowl Games Power Rankings for all 70 Quarterbacks.

No. 70 - No. 51

Every quarterback in college football has talent and ability.  If they didn't, they would not be playing.

It takes a special kind of athlete to compete at the Division-One level, but some are more special than others.

The men on this list, ranked 70-51, have proven they know how to win.

However, they are not the cream of the crop.  They are however, in the crop, and that is something amazing all by itself.

As we move up the rankings, we move up in talent.  On the list from Nos. 50-31 we see some familiar faces like Taylor Martinez and Tommy Rees.

However, we see some fresh, new faces as well.  Brett Smith from Wyoming is an up-and-coming quarterback with a bright future.  Ryan Aplin of Arkansas State is another amazing talent.

It will be interesting to see how this group of guys handles the game ahead.

As we find ourselves breaking the top 30, we notice the talent pool rising dramatically.

Names like Landry Jones, Tajh Boyd, Aaron Murray, A.J. McCarron, Tyler Wilson and Denard Robinson should all be familiar to you.

If they aren't, you need to watch more football.

Some of these guys just missed the top 10, but at this point many QBs are close in the areas of leadership, talent, abilities, special qualities and impressive statistics.

It starts to feel like splitting hairs.
