NBA Schedule 2011: Full 2011-12 Season Schedule Released on Tuesday, December 6

Matt ShetlerDec 2, 2011

After spending the better part of the last month cancelling games, the NBA has some good news to report when it comes to their post-lockout 2011-12 schedule.

The league will formally unveil their schedule Tuesday, December 6 during a live release show at 7 pm ET on NBA-TV.

(On a side note, does that really need to be on television?)

But back to the schedule.

Tthe league has already announced that there will be a full set of five games on Christmas Day, beginning at noon with the Boston Celtics at the New York Knicks, and concluding with the Los Angeles Clippers traveling to Oakland to face the Golden State Warriors.

With the lockout wiping out nearly a month of the originally-planned NBA schedule, the league decided to revamp the schedule instead of picking it up from where it would have left off.

The new plan is a revised 66-game schedule that will allow teams to play as many games as possible between Christmas Day and the playoffs.

Many details of the upcoming schedule have not yet leaked out, but one thing we do know is that it will be littered with a ton of back-to-back games for each team.

In addition, each team will also be scheduled one back-to-back-to-back situation during the course of the regular season.
