BCS Rankings: Highest and Lowest Moments of the Season for Every BCS Team

Martin SondermannDec 1, 2011

In a football season full of ups and downs, it is only appropriate that we look at the peaks and valleys of every BCS conference team.

Some high points were really high, but in contrast some of the low points were extremely low.

Some teams lost their way, while others found it.

How did your team do? Let's take a look.

Boston College

1 of 68

Team: Boston College

Conference: ACC

Record: 4-8, (3-5)

Highest Moment

In a season with very few high spots, the upset over North Carolina State in Week 12 was probably the highest.  A game that was tight all the way through, the Eagles pulled the game out 14-10.

BC played much better in the last three games of the year, almost beating Notre Dame and defeating Miami 24-17.

Had Boston College pulled off the upset against the Irish, that would have certainly been the high point of the season.

Lowest Moment

After losing to Virginia Tech 30-14, the Eagles were 1-6, their only win being over Massachusetts.

Clemson

2 of 68

Team: Clemson

Conference: ACC

Record: 9-3, (6-2)

Highest Moment

After defeating No. 11 Virginia Tech 23-3, Clemson was 5-0 with consecutive wins over No. 21 Auburn, No.11 Florida State and the Hokies.

The team was riding high and feeling good.  Clemson fans were excited, and it looked like the Tigers were for real.

Lowest Moment

After losing to No. 12 South Carolina and three of their last four games of the regular season, the Tigers were de-fanged and de-clawed.

Fans couldn't believe this Clemson team, once No. 7 in the nation and 8-0 overall, could have such a horrible collapse.

This week, they play Virginia Tech once again.  However, this time it is for the ACC Championship. Which Clemson team will show up?

Duke

3 of 68

Team: Duke

Conference: ACC

Record: 3-9, (1-7)

Highest Moment

In a season with very few choices for highest moment, the victory over Boston College in Week 3 has to be tops.

Duke stunned the Eagles 20-19 for their first of three wins of the year.  Those three wins came in Weeks 3, 4 and 5 against BC, Tulane and FIU.

After that, it was all downhill.

Lowest Moment

After losing to North Carolina, Duke completed a regular season with seven straight losses.  While every one of those losses was a low moment, the last game had to be most painful.

Because now, Duke will have to wait an entire year in hopes of winning another football game.

Thank goodness it's basketball season!

Florida State

4 of 68

Team: Florida State

Conference: ACC

Record: 8-4, (5-3)

Highest Moment

Beating Florida 21-7, but what makes it so good is that just two weeks earlier, FSU had beaten rival Miami 23-19.

Lowest Moment

Had to be the loss to Wake Forest.  This was the third loss in a row at the time and dropped the Seminoles to 2-3 on the season.

Georgia Tech

5 of 68

Team: Georgia Tech

Conference: ACC

Record: 8-4, (5-3)

Highest Moment

After beating Maryland, the Yellow Jackets were 6-0 and ranked No. 12 in the nation.

Lowest Moment

The losses to Virginia, Miami and Virginia Tech were all painful.  However, it had to be hard to lose to rivals Georgia in the last game of the year 31-17.

Maryland

6 of 68

Team: Maryland

Conference: ACC

Record: 2-10, (1-7)

Highest Moment

When the season ended, so they could just take a break.  After all, eight straight losses can wear on any team.

Lowest Moment

Before the season started and they announced all their new uniform designs.

Miami

7 of 68

Team: Miami

Conference: ACC

Record: 6-6, (3-5)

Highest Moment

In a season full of challenges, it is easy to grab anything positive.  However, probably the highest moment in a very tough season would have to be when the Hurricanes defeated No. 22 Georgia Tech 24-7.

Lowest Moment

Before the season ever really started, we heard about a massive scandal in Miami.  It shook the program to its core and hasn't finished yet.

North Carolina

8 of 68

Team: North Carolina

Conference: ACC

Record: 7-5, (3-5)

Highest Moment

After defeating Virginia in Week 3, the Tar Heels were 3-0 on the season and it all looked good.

Lowest Moment

A heart-breaking loss at Virginia Tech was painful, but the week before was probably lower.

Losing to North Carolina State 13-0 had to be the lowest moment in North Carolina's season.

North Carolina State

9 of 68

Team: North Carolina State

Conference: ACC

Record: 7-5, (4-4)

Highest Moment

A huge win over then-No. 7 Clemson had to be a high point for the Wolfpack.

Lowest Moment

The 14-10 loss to Boston College was a tough one, but being shut out 34-0 by Florida State was probably worse.

Virginia

10 of 68

Team: Virginia

Conference: ACC

Record: 8-4, (5-3)

Highest Moment

After beating No. 25 Florida State, the Cavaliers had won four in a row and looked good going into the Virginia Tech game.

Lowest Moment

It is tempting to say the 21-20 win over Idaho in overtime was the lowest moment of the season.

However, it was a win.  Unlike the 38-0 embarrassment the Cavaliers suffered at the hands of Virginia Tech last week.  That had to hurt.

Wake Forest

11 of 68

Team: Wake Forest

Conference: ACC

Record: 6-6, (5-3)

Highest Moment

Beating No. 23 Florida State 35-30 in Week 5 was a wonderful high point in the season for Wake Forest.  It brought them to 4-1 on the season after their fourth straight win.

Lowest Moment

Losing four of their last five games has to be a horribly low feeling.  However, being destroyed by Vanderbilt 41-7 in the final game has to be lowest of the low.

Baylor

12 of 68

Team: Baylor

Conference: Big 12

Record: 8-3, (5-3)

Highest Moment

The opening game against TCU.  Baylor shocked everyone, including the Horned Frogs, with their performance.

It was a coming-out party for RGIII, and after pulling off the 50-48 win, Baylor had made it clear they had arrived.

Lowest Moment

The month of October was not kind to the Bears.  Baylor completed a two-game slide when they lost to Oklahoma State 59-24.

This made three losses in the Big 12 in just four weeks.  They went from riding high in the Big 12 at the beginning of the month to no chance of winning it by month's end.

Losses to Kansas State, Texas A&M and then Oklahoma State ruined a stellar season.

Iowa State

13 of 68

Team: Iowa State

Conference: Big 12

Record: 6-5, (3-5)

Highest Moment

The highest moment in the Iowa State season is no doubt the night they shocked Oklahoma State and the rest of the nation.

The Cyclones upset the Cowboys 37-31 in a thrilling double overtime shootout.  It is a game Iowa State and their fans won't forget anytime soon.

Lowest Moment

The loss to Texas A&M had to be a low point.  This completed a winless October after losing four in a row.

Kansas

14 of 68

Team: Kansas

Conference: Big 12

Record: 2-10, (0-9)

Highest Moment

After winning 45-42 against Northern Illinois, the Jayhawks were 2-0.  That is about the highest point of the season.  Unless you count the firing of their head coach.

After a two-season total of 5-19 and 1-16 in the Big 12, coach Gill had to go and fans are excited for a new start.

Lowest Moment

After coming oh-so-close to an upset against Iowa State, the Jayhawks took Baylor to overtime, only to lose 31-30.

It was a painful loss for the players, coaches and fans.  It certainly was the lowest of many low points in their season.

Kansas State

15 of 68

Team: Kansas State

Conference: Big 12

Record: 9-2, (6-2)

Highest Moment

The win over Texas had to feel pretty good.  It was certainly the high point of the season, especially when coupled with the fact that the week before, the Wildcats beat Texas A&M in four overtimes.

Lowest Moment

Back-to-back losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Missouri

16 of 68

Team: Missouri

Conference: Big 12

Record: 7-5, (5-4)

Highest Moment

Missouri is excited to be heading to the SEC.  This was probably the high point of their season.  Of course, beating Texas on the way out isn't bad, either.

Lowest Moment

In Week 2, the Tigers lost 37-30 in overtime to Arizona State.  Considering how ASU finished the season, in retrospect, that might have been Missouri's lowest moment.

Oklahoma

17 of 68

Team: Oklahoma

Conference: Big 12

Record: 9-2, (6-2)

Highest Moment

When Oklahoma destroyed Texas 55-17 in the Red River Rivalry, the Sooners were flying high.

Lowest Moment

When the Sooners lost All-American Ryan Broyles, the NCAA's career leader in receptions, against Texas A&M, every Oklahoma fan cried out, "Oh no!"

Oklahoma then went on to lose the next game against Baylor 45-38.

Oklahoma State

18 of 68

Team: Oklahoma State

Conference: Big 12

Record: 10-1, (7-1)

Highest Moment

So many high moments occurred for the Cowboys this season.  They had wins against Texas A&M, Texas, Missouri, Baylor and Kansas State.

However, the high point of the season was probably the 66-6 destruction of Texas Tech, a team that had upset big brother Oklahoma.

It brought the Cowboys to a perfect 10-0 record and set them up for a showdown with the Sooners.

Of course, they still had to play Iowa State, but that should have been no problem.

Lowest Moment

The loss to Iowa State in double overtime 37-31.

Texas

19 of 68

Team: Texas

Conference: Big 12

Record: 7-4, (4-4)

Highest Moment

Beating Texas A&M and sending them off to the SEC with that taste in their mouth had to be a priceless high point for the Longhorns.

Lowest Moment

Being destroyed by Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry 55-17.

Texas A&M

20 of 68

Team: Texas A&M

Conference: Big 12

Record: 6-6, (4-5)

Highest Moment

Announcing they would leave the Big 12 for the greener grass of the SEC.

Lowest Moment

Being sent off to the SEC by a Texas kicker 27-25.

Texas Tech

21 of 68

Team: Texas Tech

Conference: Big 12

Record: 5-7, (2-7)

Highest Moment

Texas Tech went into Norman, Oklahoma and took it to the Sooners.  They left there with a 41-38 win and the Sooners' pride.

It was a night Texas Tech fans won't soon forget.

Lowest Moment

The rest of the season, especially the 66-6 crushing defeat to Oklahoma State.  Texas Tech didn't win a single game after upsetting Oklahoma, proving that the Sooner defeat was a big ole' Texas-sized fluke.

Cincinnati

22 of 68

Team: Cincinnati

Conference: Big East

Record: 8-3, (4-2)

Highest Moment

Beating Pittsburgh 26-23 was probably the high point of the Bearcats' season.  This put them in great shape to make it to the Orange Bowl.

Lowest Moment

The very next week, Cincinnati lost to West Virginia and the week after that, they lost to Rutgers.  The two-week stint hurt the Bearcats and took them to the lowest point of their season.

Connecticut

23 of 68

Team: Connecticut

Conference: Big East

Record: 5-6, (3-3)

Highest Moment

Beating Rutgers had to feel good.  In an up-and-down season, this win was one of very few high points.

Lowest Moment

Losses to West Virginia, Pitt, Louisville, Iowa State and even Vanderbilt are at least understandable.  However, losing to Western Michigan 38-31 had to be the low point of the season for the Huskies.

Louisville

24 of 68

Team: Louisville

Conference: Big East

Record: 7-5, (5-2)

Highest Moment

Three wins in a row over Rutgers, Syracuse and capped off by a win over No. 24 West Virginia 38-35 brought Louisville to the peak of their season.

Lowest Moment

Three losses in a row over Marshall, North Carolina and finally at Cincinnati 25-16 brought Louisville to the valley of their season.

Pittsburgh

25 of 68

Team: Pitt

Conference: Big East

Record: 5-6, (3-3)

Highest Moment

When they announced they would be leaving the Big East for the ACC.

Lowest Moment

It is hard to pick just one.  Losses to Iowa, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Utah, Cincinnati and West Virginia were all low points.

Which one was lowest?  Probably the West Virginia loss, because that is certainly a game the Panthers should have won.

Rutgers

26 of 68

Team: Rutgers

Conference: Big East

Record: 8-4, (4-3)

Highest Moment

With a win over Cincinnati, the Scarlet Knights put themselves in a great position to, at the very least, share the Big East title.

Lowest Moment

The very next week against UConn, Rutgers choked and lost a horrible game 40-22, destroying their hopes for a title or even more.

South Florida

27 of 68

Team: South Florida

Conference: Big East

Record: 5-6, (1-5)

Highest Moment

After beating UTEP, the Bulls were 4-0 and ranked No. 16 in the nation.  They were feeling good about their team, about their season and about life in general.

Lowest Moment

Then, the rest of the season happened.  The Bulls went on to lose six of the next seven games and fell to the bottom of the Big East.

Syracuse

28 of 68

Team: Syracuse

Conference: Big East

Record: 5-6, (1-5)

Highest Moment

Syracuse beat West Virginia—again.  This time, 49-23 at home and it was certainly the high point of the Syracuse season.

It was also their only Big East Conference victory.

Lowest Moment

They were losers of four straight games, compounded by the fact that all of them were conference matchups.

West Virginia

29 of 68

Team: West Virginia

Conference: Big East

Record: 9-3, (5-2)

Highest Moment

When they announced they would be leaving for the Big 12.

Lowest Moment

When they decided to file suit against the Big East to leave the conference early.

Illinois

30 of 68

Team: Illinois

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 6-6, (2-6)

Highest Moment

Mid-point of the season.  The Illini were 6-0 and ranked No. 16 in the nation.

Lowest Moment

End of the season.  After losing six straight, Illinois was 6-6 and fired head coach Ron Zook after a monumental collapse.

Indiana

31 of 68

Team: Indiana

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 1-11, (0-8)

Highest Moment

This one is easy—the high point of the Hoosiers' season was its single win over South Carolina State.

Sure they are a MEAC team, but Indiana will take anything they can get.

Lowest Moment

The last game of the season, losing to Purdue 33-25.  This capped off their 11th loss of the season.

Iowa

32 of 68

Team: Iowa

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 7-5, (4-4)

Highest Moment

A win over Michigan 24-16 was certainly the high point for the Hawkeyes.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Nebraska in the last game of the season 20-7 was probably the lowest point of the season.

However, an early overtime loss to Iowa State or the horrible loss to Minnesota wouldn't be bad choices, either.

Michigan

33 of 68

Team: Michigan

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 10-2, (6-2)

Highest Moment

Beating Nebraska and Ohio State in back-to-back weeks capped off a good regular season and takes them into a bowl game riding high.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Michigan State 28-14 is certainly the low point of the season for the Wolverines.

Michigan State

34 of 68

Team: Michigan State

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 10-2, (7-1)

Highest Moment

Beating Michigan is always tops if it happens.  It did, 28-14, and the Spartans celebrated.

Lowest Moment

A loss to Notre Dame was painful, but it wasn't nearly as costly as the loss to Nebraska.

Minnesota

35 of 68

Team: Minnesota

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 3-9, (2-6)

Highest Moment

Beating Iowa was the highest moment in the Golden Gophers' season.  In a schedule with few high spots, this one stands out.

Lowest Moment

Losses to USC, Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin and Michigan State are understandable.

Losses to Northwestern and Purdue are at least acceptable.

However, losses to New Mexico State and North Dakota State are horrible.  It is hard to choose which one of these is the lowest moment of the season for Minnesota.

Nebraska

36 of 68

Team: Nebraska

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 9-3, (5-3)

Highest Moment

The win over Michigan State was probably the highest moment of the Cornhuskers' season, but the entire season was a success.

Taking on their first year in the Big Ten, Nebraska didn't do too shabby.

Lowest Moment

The first game of the Big Ten experience for Nebraska.  700,000 Nebraska fans,or at least that is what it seemed like, poured into Madison to see the Cornhuskers debut.  It didn't go so well.

Northwestern

37 of 68

Team: Northwestern

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 6-6, (3-5)

Highest Moment

A dramatic win over No. 10 Nebraska was a great moment for Northwestern.  This was an upset no one saw coming, not even the Wildcats.

Lowest Moment

After losing to No. 21 Penn State, the Wildcats had lost five in a row.  It had to be the low point of the season.

Ohio State

38 of 68

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 6-6, (3-5)

Highest Moment

Recently, when Ohio State named Urban "I am not Oscar" Meyer as their newest head coach.

Lowest Moment

The last three games of the season capped off by a 40-34 loss to No. 15 Michigan.

Penn State

39 of 68

Team: Penn State

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 9-3, (6-2)

Highest Moment

After beating Illinois 10-7, the Nittany Lions were 8-1 and looking good.

Lowest Moment

When the disturbing news broke about former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, it was by far the lowest moment of the season for Penn State.

Purdue

40 of 68

Team: Purdue

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 6-6, (4-4)

Highest Moment

A win over Ohio State in any other year would be the high point of the Boilermakers' season.  It was this season, too.

Lowest Moment

Every other week was a low point.  Purdue had a roller coaster season—they would win, then lose, win, then lose.

It was the way it went practically all season.  With one exception, after losing to No. 20 Wisconsin, it gave them back-to-back losses for the first time all season.

Wisconsin

41 of 68

Team: Wisconsin

Conference: Big Ten

Record: 10-2, (6-2)

Highest Moment

The win over Nebraska was the highest moment of the 2011 season for the Badgers.  It seemed like they were contenders to maybe win it all after that game.

Lowest Moment

Losses to Michigan State and Ohio State in back-to-back weeks brought Wisconsin to their lowest point of the season.

They have since rebounded with four straight wins, but those two losses kept the Badgers out of the national championship hunt.

Arizona

42 of 68

Team: Arizona

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 4-8, (2-7)

Highest Moment

In a season with few high moments, the only one that seems to qualify is the opening win over Northern Arizona.

It made the Wildcats 1-0 and gave them and their fans some false hope.

Lowest Moment

So many low points.  Stoops stalking the sidelines with his head about to explode, only to be fired before season's end.

Five straight losses, four of them to Pac-12 foes.  Losing to Colorado is another one.

But the lowest moment would have to be all of it.

Arizona State

43 of 68

Team: Arizona State

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 6-6, (4-5)

Highest Moment

In Week 2, the Sun Devils enjoyed a 37-30 overtime win over Missouri.  It looked like ASU was off to a magical season.

Lowest Moment

Losers of five of their last six games, the lowest moment came when Arizona State fired their coach and started the latest chapter of, "Who will be the next scapegoat?"

California

44 of 68

Team: California

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 7-5, (4-5)

Highest Moment

After Week 3, the Bears were 3-0, 1-0 in the Pac-12 and ready to take on the rest of the conference.

Lowest Moment

However, losing to Hawaii on opening day set the bar low and it never rose again.

Oregon

46 of 68

Team: Oregon

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 10-2, (8-1)

Highest Moment

Beating Stanford 53-30 has been the high point of the season so far for the Ducks.

Lowest Moment

Of course, Oregon started off the season on a low note, losing to LSU 40-27.

Oregon State

47 of 68

Team: Oregon State

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 3-9, (3-6)

Highest Moment

Wins over Arizona and Washington State really don't qualify as "high moments."  That only leaves the win over Washington.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Sacramento State 29-28 in overtime on opening day.  That was no way to start a season, and it didn't get much better all year.

Stanford

48 of 68

Team: Stanford

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 11-1, (8-1)

Highest Moment

Beating USC 56-48 in triple overtime was an amazing victory.  It has to be the highest moment of the season for the Cardinal.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Oregon 53-30 has to be the lowest.  Not only did they lose the Pac-12 title that night, Andrew Luck might have lost the Heisman, too.

UCLA

49 of 68

Team: UCLA

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 6-6, (5-4)

Highest Moment

Beating Colorado 45-6 to make it to the Pac-12 championship game.

They lost the title game to Oregon, and the coach is on his way out.

Utah

50 of 68

Team: Utah

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 7-5, (4-5)

Highest Moment

Crushing BYU is usually enough to be considered the "highest moment" of any season for the Utes.  Final score, Utah 54 and BYU 10.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Colorado and missing the chance to play in the Pac-12 championship game in their first year in the conference.

Washington

51 of 68

Team: Washington

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 7-5, (5-4)

Highest Moment

After beating Colorado 52-24, the Huskies had won three straight Pac-12 games.

Lowest Moment

Playing Stanford brought Washington back to earth.  Losing 65-21 had to be the lowest moment of the season.  However, losing three in a row late is a close second.

Washington State

52 of 68

Team: Washington State

Conference: Pac-12

Record: 4-8, (2-7)

Highest Moment

After a Week 2 win over UNLV, WSU was 2-0 and hopeful.

Lowest Moment

Losses to San Diego State, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon State, Oregon, Cal, Utah and Washington.

Pick one.

Alabama

53 of 68

Team: Alabama

Conference: SEC

Record: 11-1, (7-1)

Highest Moment

Losing to LSU has proven to be a high point.  Now, the Crimson Tide can sit home and watch LSU have to play their hearts out against Georgia for the SEC title.

Lowest Moment

At the time, the loss to LSU.  However, the kicking game is probably considered the low point of the season now.

Arkansas

54 of 68

Beating No. 15 Auburn after beating No. 14 Texas A&M the week before.

Auburn

55 of 68

Team: Auburn

Conference: SEC

Record: 7-5, (4-4)

Highest Moment

Beating No. 10 South Carolina 16-13 in Week 4 of the season.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Georgia 45-7 was probably the low point.  However, losing to Alabama 42-14, LSU 45-10, Arkansas 38-14 and Clemson 38-24 could all be contenders.

Florida

56 of 68

Team: Florida

Conference: SEC

Record: 6-6, (3-5)

Highest Moment

After beating Kentucky, the Gators were 4-0 and ranked No. 12 in the nation.  It looked like Florida was back and would contend for the SEC title.

Lowest Moment

After losing to Georgia 24-20, the Gators had lost four in a row, all to SEC opponents.

Of course, losing the last game of the year to rival Florida State was probably a lower moment than that.

Georgia

57 of 68

Team: Georgia

Conference: SEC

Record: 10-2, (7-1)

Highest Moment

After beating in-state rival Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs are headed to the SEC Championship Game against LSU.

Lowest Moment

After losing to Boise State in the season opener and South Carolina in Week 2, Bulldog fans were mad and looking to fire the head coach.

Kentucky

58 of 68

Team: Kentucky

Conference: SEC

Record: 5-7, (2-6)

Highest Moment

After winning the first two games of the season, it appeared as if Kentucky might have a decent season.

Lowest Moment

Losing to South Carolina in Week 6 brought the Wildcats' record to 2-4.

LSU

59 of 68

Team: LSU

Conference: SEC

Record: 12-0, (8-0)

Highest Moment

The whole season. The Tigers have been very impressive all year.

They have wins over seven ranked teams—No. 3 Oregon, No. 25 Mississippi State, No. 17 Florida, No. 20 Auburn, No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 Arkansas.

Lowest Moment

Beating Alabama turned out to be not so good after all.  We realize you never want to lose a game, but now the Tigers must take on a hungry group of bulldogs in the SEC Championship game while Alabama rests.

Mississippi State

60 of 68

Team: Mississippi State

Conference: SEC

Record: 6-6, (2-6)

Highest Moment

Playing LSU to a 19-6 loss? Probably the best thing on the bulldogs resume.

Lowest Moment

Losing a game to No. 15 South Carolina 14-12 in a game that could have been won.

Ole Miss

61 of 68

Team: Ole Miss

Conference: SEC

Beating Fresno State was the best moment of the season, unless you consider firing Houston Nutt a high moment.

Lowest Moment

After losing to Mississippi State 31-3, the Rebels completed their season with seven straight losses.

South Carolina

62 of 68

Team: South Carolina

Conference: SEC

Record: 10-2, (6-2)

Highest Moment

Beating No.17 Clemson 34-13 was a nice way to close out the regular season.

Lowest Moment

Losing 16-13 in Week 5 was a heart-breaker.

Tennessee

63 of 68

Team: Tennessee

Conference: SEC

Record: 5-7, (1-7)

Highest Moment

An overtime win over Vanderbilt was thrilling and exciting.  One of the only exciting things of the season for the Volunteers.

Lowest Moment

Losing to Kentucky 10-7 in the last game of the season.  This was the first time Kentucky beat Tennessee since 1884—oh, wait—1984.

It just seems like 1884.

Vanderbilt

64 of 68

Team: Vanderbilt

Conference: SEC

Record: 6-6, (2-6)

Highest Moment

Vanderbilt was no pushover this year, and while moral victories aren't victories at all, the Commodores played several good teams close.

However, the highest moment came when they beat Wake Forest in the last game of the season and became bowl-eligible.

Lowest Moment

The loss to Tennessee in overtime 27-21 was hard to take.  It was a game Vanderbilt should have won and they know it.
