Miami Heat Rumors: Rajon Rondo and Stars That Would Save LeBron James
The Miami Heat were on the biggest stage possible in their first season together. While getting close is nice, that’s not what they were aiming for.
As good as the Heat are, they need help at several key positions. While the group of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh is fantastic, it’s obvious that three players won’t win a championship.
The following stars can be had via trade if the Miami Heat can find a partner willing to work with the pieces Miami has to move.
Brandon Roy—This wouldn’t have to be a trade if the Portland Trailblazers use their amnesty clause on veteran Brandon Roy. He would become a free agent.
Roy would be a sixth man with the Heat, but his shaky legs could thrive with less minutes on them. With more time to rest, Wade and James could be fresher come fourth-quarter time.
On a team like Miami, Roy would be a serious Sixth Man of the Year Award contender. The NBA title wouldn’t be far behind that either.
Rajon Rondo—The Boston Celtics are working hard to revamp their aging team. The biggest casualty of the revamping process may be point guard Rajon Rondo.
With the Celtics listening to offers, the Miami Heat will be on the line seeing what it would take to secure the phenomenal passer.
If the Heat could pull of the miracle trade, Rondo’s passing would give the big three the greatest offensive season in NBA history.
Al Jefferson—If the Heat and Al Jefferson were cool with the transition to center primarily, this would be the signing that put the heat over the edge.
With the Utah Jazz pumped over their draft picks, they are looking to unload Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap. While Millsap is better offensively, Jefferson is the total package in the low post.
With Jefferson defending the paint and allowing Bosh to play the offensive style he excels at, the new and improved Heat would be unstoppable.
