College Football Week 13: Sickest Highlights from Saturday's Games

Brian MaziqueNov 26, 2011

In a week that determines so much, the good to great plays were numerous. The early games included Ohio State and Michigan, as well as Michigan State invading Evanston and the Northwestern Wildcats.

With two of the most dynamic QBs in college football, the Wolverines and Buckeyes contest produced multiple entries.

Kirk Cousins certainly got a hand from BJ Cunningham, as well as his special teams unit.

Here are ten solid plays from the early games.

11. Cade Foster: Auburn: Nice, but Not Enough

1 of 11

Auburn gave a valiant effort, but the comeback was not to be in 2011, as it had been in 2010. On this play, Cade Foster gave the Auburn faithful something to cheer, but this was the last positive point of the day, as Bama mauled Auburn 42-14.

10. Isaiah Pead: Cincinnati

2 of 11

The nation needs to recognize this guy, Pead is an explosive and versatile runner. He made an appearance last week, and he produced a huge play this week.

Doing his best Matt Forte impersonation, he takes the middle screen to the house against Syracuse.

9. Braxton Miller to Corey Brown

3 of 11

Ohio State played a spirited game. Braxton Miller showed some positives and negatives. This play, was all about flashes of greatness.

He rolls out, after eluding the initial pressure, he floats a pass up, and Corey Brown makes a great leaping reception on the sidelines.

The completion went for 22 yards, but did not lead to a score. The Wolverines held off the Buckeyes in the early-game of the day, 40-34.

8. Jordan Luallen-Just Short

4 of 11

Luallen and his teammates can laugh at this now, but had the Bearcats fallen to Syracuse, it would not have been a laughing matter.

Luallen took the snap, and came up short on his dive for the goal line. The Bearcats defeated Syracuse, 30-13.

7. Cyclone Deflect

5 of 11

The Cyclones came up short in their bid to upset every prominent team from the state of Oklahoma, but they were the recipients of a nice tip for TD pass.

The Clones took an early lead on this pass from Jared Barnett to Albert Gary, but were beaten down in Norman, 26-6.

6. Spartans Tipping Point: Kirk Cousins to B.J. Cunningham

6 of 11

The Spartans have been rolling on the offensive end as of late. They put up 31 points on the road against Northwestern today. This was one of two TD strikes from Cousins to Cunningham.

This was the jazziest of the two, as it was tipped, bobbled and corralled for a nice TD play. Spartans won the game as well. 31-17.

5. KeShawn Martin the Spartan

7 of 11

As I mentioned in the intro, special teams played a big part in their win over Northwestern. Here KeShawn Martin takes a punt to the house as the Spartans overpower the Wildcats.

Once he turned on the jets and got to the outside, even the soggy conditions couldn't stop him.

4. Braxton Miller Is Waiting for Urban Meyer

8 of 11

Urban Meyer had to smile as he watched this play. As we all wait for what seems like the inevitable announcement that Meyer will be the next Buckeyes head coach, he can look forward to molding this amazing talent.

Miller looked like a young Donovan McNabb on this play and at several points during the game, but he looked like an old McNabb at other points.

3. David Sims 2nd Effort for Ga. Tech

9 of 11

Georgia Tech RB David Sims gave it a tough second effort as he battled into the endzone. This TD run cut the Georgia Bulldogs lead to 14-10, but that would be about as close as Ga. Tech would come.

The Bulldogs continued their run of now 11 straight wins, as they won 31-17.

2. DeNard's First TD Run Against Ohio State

10 of 11

Robinson had never rushed for a TD against the Buckeyes and he had never beaten them. Both of those streaks of futility came to an end Saturday, and if Robinson were still in the Heisman trophy conversation, this run could have been his signature moment.

As it stands, the Wolverines will likely get a BCS Bowl berth and the Buckeyes will sit and wait on the NCAA and Urban Meyer.

1. Trent Richardson: Bama Slaps Auburn Aside

11 of 11

Alabama and Trent Richardson left no drama in this Iron Bowl matchup. Trent may have had his Heisman moment on this 57 yard run. Verne Lundquist seemed to think it was, Tide rolled 42-14
