College Football Picks Against the Spread: 5 Locks for Today
Five teams are guaranteed to cover the spread today, and if you want to make some money, these are the teams you need to pick.
Most of these games are the premiere games today, and that means more eyeballs will be focused on these bets.
The Iron Bowl is the perfect case, and I’ll tell you which team is a lock to beat the spread. College football can be somewhat unpredictable sometimes, but these are five games that are sure to be what we think they are going to.
Alabama over Auburn
1 of 5Am I crazy? Eh, I might be a little crazy, but I’m taking Alabama—even though the Crimson Tide are giving Auburn 19.5 points.
I expect Auburn to put up a fight for the first half, but the second half will not even be a contest.
Picture the LSU/Arkansas game last night, and now think bigger. Alabama and LSU are basically the same ball club, and you saw how LSU ran away with it in the end last night.
That was to a better opponent, as well. Now, I know that this is a rivalry and all, but Alabama has been waiting on this game all year after they gave up that 24-0 lead last year.
Tide roll big in this one.
Penn State over Wisconsin
2 of 5Wisconsin is an explosive football team, but I like Penn State’s resolve.
After enduring all the disheartening events that this team has had to tackle, the Nittany Lions have fought, and they’ve fought hard.
I expect the same to happen today. I don’t expect them to beat Wisconsin, but 18.5 points is way too much to give to Penn State.
Penn State keeps it close, and you become a little richer by picking them.
Georgia over Georgia Tech
3 of 5Georgia Tech is a good football team, but Georgia will show them up in this game. Georgia Tech is getting 5.5 points Saturday, and I’m willing to take the spread.
I’m not saying this will be a a blowout, because I think this will be a close contest, but no way do the Bulldogs win by fewer than seven.
Take the Bulldogs, because they’ll cover.
Michigan over Ohio State
4 of 5Another rivalry game, and this time Michigan finally gets a victory over Ohio State, which they haven’t been able to do since 2003.
Not only will the Wolverines win, but they’ll cover the spread. Ohio State is getting 8.5 points, but that won’t be enough.
Denard Robinson will run all over the field, and he’ll be the first Michigan quarterback to get a victory over the Buckeyes in eight years.
He’s coming off of a great performance last week against Nebraska, where he showed off his legs and arm once again.
Shoelace goes off today.
Tennessee over Kentucky
5 of 5Tennessee is giving up seven points, but I think they’ll clear it.
The Volunteers have had a rocky season, but they’ll cover the spread against Kentucky. Kentucky has a strong defense, but I just think the Vols have it in them to score a double-digit victory against the Wildcats.
It’s just a hunch.
