Erik Walden: Green Bay Packers LB Arrested on Suspicion of Assaulting Girlfriend
Just one day after recording eight tackles in the undefeated Green Bay Packers' Thanksgiving Day victory over the Detroit Lions, linebacker Erik Walden was arrested for suspicion of assaulting his live-in girlfriend, according to Charles Davis of the Green Bay Post-Gazette.
There is no indication of whether Walden did, in fact, assault his girlfriend, but the arrest itself certainly doesn't reflect well on the Packers. It also isn't known if Walden would possibly face jail time if found guilty, or if he will be available for next Sunday's game.
Walden has been a mainstay at outside linebacker for Green Bay this season opposite All-Pro Clay Matthews. The fourth-year man has recorded 41 tackles and three sacks on the year and started against the Lions on Thursday.

Seeing as though this is a he-said, she-said case at this point, it is difficult to speculate whether the Packers will discipline Walden in any way. It is more likely that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will hand down a punishment if he sees fit.
While a guilty verdict hasn't necessarily been needed in order for Goodell to discipline players in the past, I assume the commissioner will err on the side of caution since this is Walden's first offense. If Walden is found to be guilty of assaulting his girlfriend, however, he can probably expect at least a one-game suspension.
