Emmanuel Eboue Video: Watch Turkish Fans Relentlessly Throw Trash at Star
Just sick.
Whatever the reason, there is no excuse for fans throwing anything on the field of play; no matter the sport, player or activity that is going on the field at the time.
The posted video shows Galatasaray star Emmanuel Eboue being belted with a variety of items. It is hard to tell the reason for the barrage.

The video is a tad grainy but it looks like some bottles as well as tiny black objects are being thrown. This is not the first occurrence. The world of football has long been known to have hooligans throw thing like batteries at players, and it's deplorable.
The video's comments on YouTube give a couple of possible reasons. The obvious ones coming to mind are Eboue's propensity to flop during matches, his race and the loyalty of clubs.
While race is the most awful reason, none of these are worthy of taking an object and flinging it onto the field. This is one of the many reasons why fanaticism can hurt more than help sports.
These fans just care too damn much. Sit there, cheer and jump up and down. The second that you affect play or even remotely injure a player, you are crossing the line from fanatic to villain.
The barrage seems to get worse as Eboue reacts to every single piece of trash thrown. So, the fans throw even more.
At that point, I wouldn't mind if Eboue sat in the middle of the pitch with the ball until the throwing of trash ended. Just like in MLB and other sports, play is not continued until something this vile is ended. The same has to be implemented into the wonderful world of soccer, because there is nothing wonderful about this.
