BCS Bowl Predictions: Why Alabama Would Crush Oregon, Deserve LSU Rematch More

Randy ChambersNov 19, 2011

As we enter the final few weeks of the college football regular season, there is a lot of things that can happen. Although there are only a couple of games left for most teams, there is still a ton of football left to be played.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are currently the No.3 team in the BCS rankings and still have a realistic chance to make the National Championship. Although they will need a loss from Oklahoma State to make that happen, with a game against the Sooners coming up, their wish could come true.

The problem is that a one-loss Oklahoma team would have a solid case against a one-loss Alabama team. They both would have beaten five ranked teams at the end of the year, but Oklahoma would have victories over two Top 5 teams and three Top 10 teams.

At the time of the Crimson Tide's victories they haven't even beaten one Top 10 team as the only team they played was LSU and they lost. So, needless to say, a loss to Oklahoma this weekend against Baylor would really help Alabama's case as well.

If both Oklahoma State and Oklahoma lose, Alabama would be a lock to have a rematch against LSU in the National Championship. There's no way Oregon jumps the Crimson Tide when they have a much softer schedule and were destroyed by LSU in the season opener.

Which leads me to another thing.

What if the Oregon Ducks end up losing the Pac-12 title to either UCLA or Arizona State? Either the Sun Devils or the Bruins would end up in the Rose Bowl and the Ducks could possibly settle for the Sugar Bowl at-large bid.

The Ducks would stand no chance against this Alabama defense as they are way to strong and way to physical. Oregon is successful in the Pac-12, but once they head down south, all of that speed is evenly matched and the offense struggles.

Teams in the SEC are way too physical and the game wouldn't even be close if these two teams squared off.

If everything falls in place for Alabama they deserve a rematch against the top team in the country that they only lost to by a field goal in overtime. The other teams could fall in line after the two SEC teams have a rematch for the National Championship.
