Mike McQueary Interview: CBS Establishes McQueary Not the Talking Type in Sham
OMG. Did you see the CBS interview of Penn State receivers coach Mike McQueary? Well, if you happened to blink, get water from the kitchen or even sneeze, you would have missed it.
For a good portion of Tuesday afternoon, CBS ballyhooed the upcoming interview of embroiled Penn State coach Mike McQueary.
The announcement came a day after NBC featured Jerry Sandusky in a phone interview on the new show Rock Center with Brian Williams.
This is to say that everyone who heard McQueary was going to have an interview with CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian, expected an in-depth tell all from McQueary's point of view.
Okay, maybe not a tell all, but at the very least more than a line of questions that established nothing and ended before I opened my can of Dr. Pepper.
Here is what we now know about McQueary thanks to the geniuses at CBS. First off, we now know that McQueary is shaken. I know. You may want to pen a letter to your local congressman and alert the neighbors because that is the biggest revelation ever.
Of course he is shaken. I am sure that McQueary is on a diet of water and crackers because he can't keep anything else down. Next question.
Oh, there weren't any? Well, how about that real stirring question that gets to the heart of the matter and will help solve all the doubts that we have about McQueary: "When do you think you'll be ready to talk?"
Yes, Keteyian opened with a question that pretty much told us that McQueary was going to tell us little more than his name and that it was cold outside.
After a few seconds of questioning that could be classified as comforting as a teddy bear's embrace, we were left to feel duped by a network that got us to tune into their news program.
Thanks for literally nothing, CBS.
